Overview

We are seeking a skilled GCP Data Engineering Developer with strong hands‑on experience in designing and implementing data migration solutions from traditional SQL databases to Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of banking data structures and compliance requirements, and will contribute to building secure, scalable, and efficient data pipelines for banking analytics and operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Data Migration & Engineering: Develop and implement data migration workflows from SQL-based systems (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL) to GCP services like BigQuery, Cloud SQL, Cloud Spanner, and Cloud Storage.
  • Build and optimize data pipelines using Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Cloud Composer, and Apache Beam.
  • Perform data validation, reconciliation, and quality checks post-migration.
  • Banking Domain Focus: Work with banking datasets such as customer profiles, transaction records, loan and credit data, and regulatory reporting.
  • Ensure data handling aligns with RBI, PCI-DSS, and GDPR compliance standards.
  • Collaboration & Documentation: Collaborate with architects, business analysts, and QA teams to understand requirements and deliver robust solutions.
  • Document data flows, migration logic, and pipeline configurations for audit and operational transparency.
  • Monitoring & Optimization: Monitor pipeline performance and troubleshoot issues in real‑time.
  • Optimize queries and storage for cost and performance efficiency.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • 8–10 years of experience in data engineering, with at least 2–3 years working on GCP.
  • Strong hands‑on experience with GCP services: BigQuery, Cloud SQL, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage, Cloud Composer.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, and Java/Scala.
  • Experience with data migration tools and frameworks (e.g., Talend, Informatica, Google Transfer Service).
  • Familiarity with banking data models and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Terraform is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
  • GCP Associate or Professional Data Engineer certification.
  • Experience in ETL/ELT design, data quality frameworks, and metadata management.

Exposure to real-time analytics or fraud detection systems in banking.
