Job summary

Qualifications

Job description

Join us as a DCW DevOps Engineer at Barclays, where you'll take part in the evolution of our digital landscape, driving innovation and excellence. You'll harness cutting-edge technology to revolutionise our digital offerings, ensuring unparalleled customer experiences. As a part of the team, you will deliver technology stack, using strong analytical and problem solving skills to understand the business requirements and deliver quality solutions. You'll be working on complex technical problems that will involve detailed analytical skills and analysis. This will be done in conjunction with fellow engineers, business analysts and business stakeholders.

To be successful as a DCW DevOps Engineer, you should have experience with:

  • You should have hands-on experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment tools like Gradle, Docker and CI/CD pipelines using GITLAB.
  • A solid understanding of ServiceFirst, release management, patching, and vulnerability management is essential. Proficiency in tools such as GitLab, AppDynamics, ESaaS, aPaaS, Helm, and Chef is required, along with strong knowledge of Terraform, MS Azure, and AWS.
  • Experience with Linux-based systems, scripting (Bash, Python), Cron Jobs, and shell scripting is crucial. You'll monitor platform performance, scalability, and high availability, and have a proven track record of improving incident, problem, change, capacity, resilience, monitoring, and automation processes.
Some Other Highly Valued Skills Include
  • Knowledge of distributed infrastructure, Unix/Windows expertise, SQL skills, and familiarity with databases like Oracle and SQL.
  • Basic knowledge of Java, experience with integrating multiple toolsets, and strong problem-solving and multitasking abilities are also beneficial.

This role is based in Pune.

Purpose of the role

To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues.

Accountabilities
  • Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimised for performance.
  • Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
  • Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
  • Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organisation’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
  • Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
  • Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.
