Job summary

Shashwath Solution is seeking an experienced Senior Database Administrator with a primary focus on cloud platforms and migration projects. The role emphasizes MongoDB, Azure Cosmos DB, and Azure Database for PostgreSQL, with migration from Oracle to PostgreSQL and workloads from AWS to Azure.

You will lead end-to-end migrations, optimize cloud-native database architectures, and drive automation and CI/CD integration for deployments.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on experience in Database Administration, focusing on cloud and migration projects.
• Strong expertise with MongoDB, Azure Cosmos DB (NoSQL), Azure Database for PostgreSQL.
• Proven experience with Oracle to PostgreSQL migrations, including schema and stored procedure conversion.
• Hands-on experience in NoSQL database migrations.
• Experience with AWS to Azure database migration projects.
• Solid understanding of cloud-native database services and Azure infrastructure.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation for data migration and validation.
• Strong troubleshooting skills related to database performance, availability, and consistency.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills for working with stakeholders and technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute end-to-end database migration projects, including NoSQL (MongoDB, Azure Cosmos DB) and relational databases (Oracle to PostgreSQL).
• Design, implement, and optimize database solutions on Azure Cosmos DB, MongoDB, and Azure Database for PostgreSQL.
• Manage and troubleshoot database performance, availability, and data consistency issues during migration and post-migration.
• Automate data transformation, migration, and validation processes using scripting and migration tools.
• Drive migration efforts to transition database workloads from AWS to Azure.
• Analyze existing database schemas and stored procedures for migration readiness and perform conversions.
• Collaborate with architects, developers, and cloud engineers to define cloud-native database architectures and best practices.
• Document database architecture, migration strategies, and configurations clearly and comprehensively.
• Support CI/CD pipeline integration for database deployments (preferred).
• Assist with containerized database deployments using Kubernetes or Docker (good to have).
