Responsibilities

• Manage, monitor, and maintain production database environments, with a strong focus on AWS RDS and MongoDB Atlas clusters, ensuring high availability and reliability.
• Execute database backup and restore procedures, manage migrations, and handle Disaster Recovery operations when necessary.
• Analyze and optimize database performance through query tuning, implementing efficient indexing strategies, and troubleshooting locking, blocking, and deadlocks.
• Collaborate closely with development teams to design efficient schemas and data models.
• Review database changes (DDL/DML scripts) and ensure adherence to best practices in SQL and data architecture.
• Manage database access, roles, and permissions, ensuring compliance with security best practices and data protection standards.
• Regularly audit and address security vulnerabilities.
• Support, maintain, and optimize ETL processes using tools like Pentaho.
• Ensure reliable data flow and data quality across systems, including integration with Kafka pipelines.
• Investigate and resolve complex database issues and production incidents with a focus on minimizing downtime.
• Support client environments and assist with database migrations across different database engines.
