Job summary

HypTechie in Bengaluru is seeking a Database Engineer to support applications and interfaces for development and production teams. You will act as SME in performance tuning, DR testing, and security auditing, with a focus on maintaining secure, reliable database systems.

The role involves approving production changes, monitoring system health, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to minimize downtime and ensure compliant operations.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of Database Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, education

Responsibilities

• Participate in the support of applications and interfaces for both development and production support teams
• Act as subject matter professional in performance tuning
• Apply knowledge of Disaster Recovery setup and testing
• Review and analyze Outage Management Systems to ensure backend tuning and monitoring is most appropriate and effective
• Maintain database systems at the latest security patch levels
• Design and implement security solutions including Center for Internet Security benchmarks and auditing
• Approve all production changes, database designs and follow the change management process
• Engage various teams of troubleshooters to assess system health and issues
• Implement monitoring that allows proactive measures to be taken minimizing system downtime
• Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
• Interact with internal customers
• Receive direction from leaders and exercise independent judgment while developing the knowledge to understand function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
