Job summary

Quantela is seeking a highly skilled PostgreSQL Database Developer to design, develop, optimize, and maintain our PostgreSQL-based data platforms. You will collaborate with software engineers, data analysts, and DevOps to ensure reliability, performance, and scalability of data stores.

The role requires deep experience with SQL tuning, PL/pgSQL, and data migrations from Oracle/DB2, with a focus on efficient schemas, indexing, and partitioning to support large-scale analytics.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands‑on experience with PostgreSQL in a production environment.
• Strong SQL skills, including query optimization and performance tuning.
• Experience with PostgreSQL internals and explain plans.
• Proficiency in writing PL/pgSQL functions, procedures, and triggers.
• Exposure to data migration, including use of COPY, FDW, and data loaders.
• Understanding of indexes, constraints, and transaction isolation levels.
• Knowledge of other databases (Oracle, MySQL) and migration strategies.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop complex SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and functions in PostgreSQL.
• Perform performance tuning and optimization of PostgreSQL queries and indexing strategies.
• Work closely with application developers, data engineers, and architects to implement efficient data structures and access paths.
