Job summary

Contenterra Software is seeking a Senior Database Administrator with strong SQL Server and Snowflake expertise to support the enterprise data platform in Hyderabad. The role focuses on production operations, upgrades, migrations, monitoring, security, automation, and platform reliability.

You will collaborate with Data Engineering, Analytics, BI, and Infra teams to ensure robust data services and performance. 5+ years of DBA experience and hands-on Snowflake administration are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT/CS or related field.
• 5+ years in SQL Server administration (config, tuning, backup, security).
• Hands-on Snowflake administration (warehouse, RBAC, auth, schema).
• Experience with SQL Server upgrades or migrations (planning/testing).
• Strong SQL and T-SQL development and troubleshooting.
• Experience supporting production database environments and maintenance.
• Azure data services knowledge (Azure Storage, ADLS Gen2, Key Vault).
• Python scripting for automation, monitoring, reporting, validation, and support.
• Experience with CI/CD and deployment processes.

Responsibilities

Senior Database Administrator SQL Server & Snowflake

Location: Madhapur, Hyderabad
Employment Type: Full-Time

Role Summary

We are looking for a Senior Database Administrator with strong hands-on experience in SQL Server and Snowflake to support enterprise data platform operations, production environments, database upgrades, migrations, monitoring, security, automation, and platform reliability.

The candidate will work closely with Data Engineering, Application Development, Analytics, Infrastructure, BI, and other technical and business teams.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Data Engineering, or equivalent relevant experience.
• 5+ years of experience in SQL Server administration, including configuration, performance tuning, backup and recovery, security, monitoring, troubleshooting, and production support.
• Strong hands-on experience in Snowflake administration, including warehouse management, RBAC, user access, database and schema administration, monitoring, performance optimization, and platform support.
• Hands-on experience with SQL Server upgrades or database migrations, including planning, testing, troubleshooting, validation, and post-upgrade support.
• Strong SQL and T-SQL development and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience supporting production database environments, operational incidents, scheduled jobs, access requests, and platform maintenance.
• Working knowledge of Azure data platform services, including Azure Storage, ADLS Gen2, Azure Key Vault, or related services.
• Working knowledge of Python scripting for automation, monitoring, reporting, validation, and operational support. Advanced Python development experience is not required.
• Experience with CI/CD, source control, deployment processes, or database change-management practices.
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities, troubleshoot complex issues, and communicate effectively with distributed/global teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Fivetran HVR for data replication, migration, or integration is strongly preferred.
• Experience with other data integration or ETL/ELT technologies such as ETLWorks, Airflow, or similar tools.
• Working knowledge of PowerShell.
• Experience with Snowsight, SQL Server Management Studio, DBeaver, or similar database administration tools.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum delivery environments.
• Healthcare, managed care, health insurance, or payer data experience is preferred but not required.
