Job summary

Zealant Technologies seeks a Data Scientist to join the decision science group in our core Data Science team. You will develop tools to distill complex data into actionable decisions and automate components of decision-making processes across the company.

Required experience: 4–10 years with Python, Spark, MongoDB/Hadoop, and building scalable applications (Django, Celery, Luigi). Strong communication with non-technical partners is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience with manipulating and analyzing complex, high-volume data.
• Ability to translate non-technical tasks into algorithmic solutions.
• Familiarity with Microservice Architecture is a plus.
• Fluency in Python, Ruby or Scala; able to build Django apps and use Python libraries like Celery or Luigi.
• Knowledge of non-relational databases (MongoDB) and big data tools (Hadoop, Hive, Pig, Spark).
• Value concise code, lead with tests, and embrace DevOps.

Our Client is seeking a Data Scientist to join the decision science group in our core Data Science team. Data has been a huge part of our success and growth and will be a critical factor in our future. But raw data in bulk is overwhelming and often misleading. Data can be used more effectively when it is mathematically distilled to augment decision making. By computationally recommending some courses of action and automating some decisions, people can spend more time working on all those things that can- t be automated. We- re excited about the idea of helping smart and creative people spend less time on repetitive, mundane and boring tasks and more time creating amazing products for our consumers. As a member of our decision science group you will develop and disseminate tools that will be used across the company to help stakeholders make decisions more efficiently and effectively.

Experience - 4-10 Years

Requirements:

Skilled in manipulating and analyzing complex, high-volume, high-dimensionality data from varying sources.

Comfortable communicating and working with non-technical partners and colleagues to translate tasks done by humans into tasks that can be done by algorithms. Capable of implementing your designs as reusable and scalable programs and applications. Familiarity with - Microservice Architecture- is a plus.

Fluency with at least one scripting language like Python, Ruby or Scala. You should be able to build Django apps and be comfortable with the idea of using Python libraries (or equivalent) like Celery or Luigi.

Knowledge of non-relational databases like MongoDB or Hadoop, query tools (e.g. Hive or Pig) and tools for distributed computation (e.g. Spark) are highly desirable.

Should value simple solutions, write concise code, lead with tests, and believe in devops.

Responsibilities:

Collaboratively identify opportunities to integrate data into decision processes. With your help decisions should take less time, allocate resources more effectively, incorporate more sources of information, make decisions more transparent, and more explicitly consider alternative courses of action.

Work with business intelligence and product analysts to translate regular work processes like reporting or marketing campaign evaluations into clear, outlined processes. Then convert those processes into algorithmic applications.

Consistently raise data and analytic standards by improving and developing new statistical methods and algorithms. Educate stakeholders (including other data science teams and analysts across the company) as to their use.

Ensure that the various databases and data pipelines across the company are as accessible and usable as possible for stakeholders and decision makers at every level.
