Job summary

Chubb India is seeking a Data Scientist to join the Advanced Analytics team in Bangalore. The role focuses on building pricing and risk models for Property & Casualty products and translating analytics into actionable business insights.

We expect 2–4 years of Python experience, strong ML knowledge, and collaboration with global stakeholders. The position offers a full-time role with exposure to cutting-edge AI and analytics tools.

Qualifications

  • 2–4 years of professional experience in Python for data analysis, modeling, and production development
  • Strong proficiency in Python fundamentals, OOP, design patterns, and packaging/environment management
  • Experience with machine learning libraries and techniques (scikit-learn, XGBoost, clustering, ensemble methods)
  • Familiarity with Claude and generative AI concepts for leveraging AI tools to enhance productivity and modeling workflows
  • Experience documenting and tracking work progress using Jira; comfortable working in Agile environments

Responsibilities

Role Overview: Data Scientist

We are seeking a Data Scientist for the Advanced Analytics team, who will join the team to develop analytical models and insights that drive pricing, account guidance, and risk assessment decisions across Chubb's Property & Casualty insurance product. This position offers exposure to a wide variety of analytics tools and technologies as well as unique challenges in problem-solving.


Responsibilities:


  • Perform exploratory data analysis (EDA), data validation, and preprocessing on large, complex datasets

  • Research, recommend, and implement statistical and mathematical methodologies appropriate for business problems

  • Build machine learning and statistical models (GLM, regression, classification, clustering) to support pricing and risk insights across P&C products

Must have:

Good to have:


  • Master's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Analytics, Data Science, Economics or Computer Science

  • Experience with BI tools, particularly Power BI; exposure to Tableau a plus

  • Solid foundation in SQL and ability to manage large datasets

  • Understanding of Insurance landscape and P&C products (Property, Casualty, General Liability, Workers Comp, Auto, etc.)

  • Understanding of insurance data structures and pricing models (distributions, outlier treatment, exposure data, loss data)
