Job summary

IndoBevs is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join the Business Intelligence team in Delhi. You will build forecasting models, automate reporting workflows, and develop Gen AI solutions to generate insights and support strategic planning in the spirits and FMCG domain.

Requirements include strong Python/SQL, ML experience, and hands-on Generative AI tools. Experience in Alcobev is preferred, with proficiency in Power BI and cloud platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, statistics, mathematics, engineering or a related field.
• At least 5–6 years of hands-on experience in data science, analytics or related role with demonstrable business impact.
• Relevant certification in ML, AI or Cloud is a plus but not mandatory.
• Experience with Generative AI tools and technologies (LLMs, prompt engineering) is required.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain dashboards (Power BI) covering sales, distribution, and trade promotion performance across regions and channels.
• Conduct exploratory analysis to identify trends, growth opportunities, and areas of concern for leadership.
• Develop KPI scorecards and automated reporting pipelines that reduce manual effort and improve data accessibility.
• Develop Gen AI solutions using LLMs (GPT, Claude, Gemini, or open-source models) for automated report generation, document summarization, and conversational analytics.
• Build RAG-based pipelines and explore AI agent frameworks (LangChain, CrewAl, or similar) to automate analytical workflows.
• Apply ML techniques – classification, regression, clustering & MLP – to solve business problems like customer segmentation, churn prediction, and promotion effectiveness.
• Build demand forecasting models for sales prediction and inventory planning.
• Develop financial models covering P&L analysis, revenue forecasting, and budget planning in collaboration with Finance.
• Support the annual operating plan (AOP) and strategic initiatives with scenario analysis and data-driven recommendations.
• Identify and automate repetitive reporting and data processing tasks using Python, SQL, and tools like Power Automate or Airflow.
• Build and maintain ETL pipelines to ensure clean, timely, and reliable data flows across the BI ecosystem.
• Set up anomaly detection alerts to proactively flag issues in sales, inventory, or financial data.

Key Responsibilities

Analytics & Business Insights

Required Skills

• Python & SQL: Strong proficiency in Python (Pandas, Scikit-learn, Statsmodels) and SQL for data analysis, modelling, and automation.
• Machine Learning: Hands‑on experience building and deploying ML models - supervised/unsupervised learning, time-series forecasting, and NLP.
• Generative Al: Working knowledge of LLM APIs, prompt engineering, RAG architectures, and at least one framework like LangChain or Llamalndex.
• BI & Visualization: Proficiency in Power BI for creating executive-level dashboards and data storytelling.
• Cloud Basics: Familiarity with at least one cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP) for data storage, processing, or ML deployment.
• FMCG/Spirits Domain: Understanding of sales analytics, demand planning, distributor performance, and trade dynamics in FMCG or spirits (preferred).
• Communication: Ability to translate complex analysis into clear, actionable insights for both technical and business audiences.

Good to Have

• Experience with RPA tools (UiPath, Power Automate) or workflow orchestration (Airflow, dbt).
• Familiarity with MLOps practices - model versioning, monitoring, and retraining pipelines.
• Exposure to cloud data warehouses like Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift.
• Prior experience in the spirits, beverage, or consumer goods industry.
