Job summary

Virtusa is seeking a Senior AI Engineer to design and scale enterprise-grade Generative AI solutions, focusing on production-ready GenAI and LLM deployments.

You will build RAG pipelines, fine-tune models, optimize data pipelines, and integrate AI services with cloud infra, ensuring performance, cost-efficiency, and robust safety guardrails.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of IT experience with 3–5 years in AI, LLM implementation, and data engineering.
• Experience with GenAI & LLMs: RAG frameworks, vector databases, prompt engineering, and LLM fine-tuning.
• Strong data engineering: Python, SQL, ETL, Spark, Kafka, and data warehousing.
• Cloud & MLOps exposure: AWS, GCP, or Azure; Docker, Kubernetes, MLflow/Kubeflow.
• Software engineering: REST APIs, microservices, and clean code practices.

Responsibilities

• Design and deploy end-to-end GenAI and LLM-based applications into production.
• Build scalable RAG architectures using vector databases and semantic search.
• Optimize data pipelines to ingest, clean, and process multi-source data for AI models.
• Fine-tune, evaluate, and prompt-engineer open-source and proprietary LLMs.
