Job summary

Dow India seeks a Data Scientist Specialist to extract knowledge from high‑volume data and deliver data‑driven business insights. You will collaborate with stakeholders to design end‑to‑end analytics solutions and validate models using Python and related tools.

Responsibilities include data preprocessing, feature engineering, model development, and applying advanced analytics while staying aligned with business objectives. Independent contributor role with mentorship duties may arise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field is required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in predictive/prescriptive modeling in analytics and ML.
• Master’s or PhD preferred; analytics experience with business applications is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop end-to-end data science analytics solutions with stakeholders.
• Data preprocessing, harmonization, and feature engineering for modeling datasets.
• Develop and validate ML/DL models using Python; apply simpler techniques when suitable.
• Research data science theories to inform business decisions and techniques.
• Explore supervised and unsupervised learning methods.

About you and this role Dow has an exciting opportunity for a Data Scientist Specialist on the Enterprise Data & Analytics team. Extracts knowledge and insights from high volume, high dimensional data in order to investigate complex business problems through a range of data preparation, modeling, analysis and/or visualization techniques, which may include the use of advanced statistical analysis, algorithms, predictive modeling, experimentation and pattern recognition to create solutions that enable enhanced business performance.

Responsibilities

• Participating in the design and development of end-to-end data science analytics solutions using associated technologies and in key conversations with stakeholders about data-driven recommendations to enable the business objective.
• Perform data preprocessing, harmonization, and feature engineering to prepare modeling datasets.
• Development of machine learning or deep learning models, validation and maintenance using Python and identify when more simple techniques can be applied.
• Researching and applying knowledge of existing and emerging data science principles, theories, and techniques to inform business decisions.
• Researching and leveraging supervised and unsupervised learning techniques.

Qualifications

• A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field is required (i.e. applied stats).
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in predictive/prescriptive modeling in the Analytics and Machine Learning space.
• Master's degree or PhD is preferred.
• Background or experience in business application of analytics is highly desired.
