Job summary

Barclays Corporate Banking seeks an experienced Data Quality Control Oversight Lead in Pune to establish and continuously enhance governance for data and records. You will ensure regulatory alignment and enterprise data standards while enabling trusted data for business use.

You will oversee risk-based controls, mentor teams, and provide guidance to senior stakeholders on governance frameworks, data quality, and records management policies across global operations.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to design and maintain data governance and data management frameworks that meet regulatory requirements.
• Experience identifying data risks and control gaps and delivering remediation plans.
• Hands-on experience with ETL, data modelling, and data product lifecycles in a regulated enterprise.

Purpose of the role

To develop, implement, and maintain effective governance frameworks for all data and records across the banks global operations.

Accountabilities

• Development and maintenance of a comprehensive data and records governance framework aligned with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
• Monitoring data quality and records metrics and compliance with standards across the organization.
• Identification and addressing of data and records management risks and gaps.
• Development and implementation of a records management programme that ensures the proper identification, classification, storage, retention, retrieval and disposal of records.
• Development and implementation of a data governance strategy that aligns with the banks overall data management strategy and business objectives.
• Provision of Group wide guidance and training on Data and Records Management standard requirements.

The role ensures alignment with regulatory expectations, enterprise data standards, and industry best practices, while enabling trusted, high-quality data for business and regulatory use.

You may be assessed on key critical skills relevant for success in role such as:

• Strong understanding of Data Governance, Data Management, and Data Quality frameworks.
• Ability to interpret business processes through a data lens, identifying risks and control gaps.
• Hands-on experience in:
  • ETL processes and data pipelines
  • Data Modelling and Architecture
  • Data Products lifecycle (BDP/EDP/FDP or equivalent)
• Proven experience in executing CDO-led governance and oversight activities.

Technical and Analytical Skills Required:

• Strong technical proficiency, including:
  • SQL (advanced querying, data profiling)
  • Python (data analysis, automation)
  • Cloud platforms (preferably AWS services)
• Solid understanding of data architecture principles and integration patterns.
• High attention to detail with ability to analyze, profile, and interpret large datasets.
