Job summary

Persistent is seeking a Data Product Owner in Bengaluru to bridge business stakeholders and data engineering teams, driving data platform initiatives and prioritizing business needs that support Supply Chain, Finance, and enterprise data management objectives.

You will own and prioritize the data engineering backlog, translate requirements into user stories, perform data analysis and quality validation, and collaborate with Data Engineers on Databricks and PySpark data products, while steering

• Extensive experience translating business needs into data products.
• Experience with SQL-based data analysis and data quality validation.
• Strong understanding of ETL/ELT, data pipelines, warehousing and modeling.
• Experience as a Product Owner in Agile environments with backlogs management.

About Position:

We are looking for a Data Product Owner to bridge the gap between business stakeholders and data engineering teams. This role will drive data platform initiatives, prioritize business needs, and ensure the delivery of high-quality data products that support Supply Chain, Finance, and enterprise data management objectives.

What You'll Do:

• Own and prioritize the data engineering product backlog and roadmap.
• Translate business requirements into user stories, data rules, and acceptance criteria.
• Perform SQL-based data analysis, validation, and data quality assessments.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers on Databricks, PySpark, data pipelines, and data products.
• Facilitate stakeholder discussions, sprint planning, UAT, and release activities.
• Drive data governance, quality, and adoption across business functions.

Expertise You'll Bring:

• Strong SQL skills with experience in data analysis, reconciliation, and data quality validation.
• Solid understanding of ETL/ELT, data pipelines, data warehousing, and data modeling concepts.
• Experience working as a Product Owner in Agile environments, managing backlogs and requirements.
• Familiarity with Databricks and PySpark, with the ability to work closely with data engineering teams.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills across technical and business teams.
• Knowledge of Supply Chain, ERP, Master Data Management, and data governance practices is highly preferred.
