Job description

A leading global business services platform is looking for an experienced Data Privacy Manager to lead engagement delivery from our Mumbai base. In this role, you will be the delivery backbone of our privacy practice in western India, executing privacy advisory engagements independently, supervising team members, and taking direct ownership of enterprise clients.

Position Snapshot:

• Experience: 3-5 years
• Availability: Immediate joiners preferred

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead DPDP Act readiness and implementation engagements, including gap assessments, data inventory, consent mechanisms, and privacy notice drafting.
• Execute GDPR compliance programmes, including Article 30 ROPA, DPIAs, cross-border data transfer assessments (SCCs, TIAs), and data subject rights.
• Conduct privacy gap assessments, maturity assessments, and privacy-by-design reviews.
• Develop privacy governance frameworks, policies, and board-ready privacy risk reports.
• Serve as the primary client contact for privacy engagements in Mumbai and western India, presenting roadmaps to client legal, compliance, and IT leadership.
• Supervise, mentor, and review deliverables for Senior Executives and Executives.

Must-Have Skills and Experience:

• 3-5 years of experience with a significant focus on data privacy, regulatory compliance, or privacy advisory.
• Strong working knowledge of the DPDP Act 2023 and hands-on experience with GDPR advisory.
• CDPSE, CIPP/E, CIPM, or an equivalent professional privacy certification.
• Prior experience executing privacy engagements independently within a consulting or advisory firm.
• Exceptional report-writing and client presentation skills, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.

Good to Have:

• Experience with sector-specific privacy requirements, such as BFSI (RBI, SEBI, IRDAI), healthcare, or technology.
• Familiarity with HIPAA or GCC data protection laws.
• Experience working with privacy management tools like OneTrust, Securiti, or BigID.
• A law degree (LLB) or legal background combined with compliance experience.

Candidate Profile:

We are seeking a hands-on, self-directed privacy practitioner who can run client engagements independently without detailed task-level direction. You should be highly disciplined, comfortable operating as the senior-most professional on the ground in Mumbai, and capable of translating complex regulations into clear, actionable compliance steps.
