Job summary

Michael Page seeks a senior data platform leader to drive APAC strategy, ensuring scalable and standardized data solutions aligned with global AI/Analytics priorities. You will own the end-to-end data product lifecycle and push governance across cataloging, lineage, and data quality.

We seek a leader with 13+ years in data management or data platform roles and strong stakeholder management across IT and business, plus hands-on experience with Databricks and Azure data services.

Qualifications

• 13+ years in data management, data engineering, or data platform leadership.
• Regional or global leadership experience (3+ years) is preferred.
• Proven track record owning enterprise-scale data platforms (cloud/hybrid).
• Defined governance frameworks including cataloging, lineage, data quality, and access control.

Job Description

Lead APAC data platform strategy, ensuring scalable, standardized, and costefficient solutions aligned with global models and AI/Analytics priorities.

Own endtoend data product lifecycle (creation, evolution, retirement) and drive alignment with global governance standards.

Evaluate and recommend data product improvements with clear tradeoffs across cost, risk, and business impact.

Enforce data management best practices including metadata cataloging, lineage, and reference data standardization.

Drive data literacy and adoption through sandbox environments, structured usage frameworks, and upskilling initiatives.

Enable transition from local/legacy solutions to governed, enterprisewide platforms.

Manage and mentor team while ensuring stakeholder alignment, prioritization, and conflict resolution across business, IT, and global teams.

The Successful Applicant

• 13+ years in data management, data engineering, or data platform leadership roles, with at least 3 years in a regional or global capacity
• Proven track record of owning and operating enterprisescale data platforms (cloud/hybrid)
• Demonstrated success in defining and implementing data governance frameworks, including cataloging, lineage, data quality, and access management
• Handson leadership of data product lifecycle: creation, evolution, retirement, and alignment with global standards
• Strong background in stakeholder management, including collaboration with IT, business, and global data offices
• Advanced proficiency in Databricks for data engineering, orchestration, and analytics workloads
• Cloud Data Platforms: Deep experience with Azure Data Factory, Synapse, ADLS, and related Azure data services
• Data Modeling: Strong understanding of data modeling (dimensional, lakehouse, medallion), schema management, and data contracts
• Data Governance Tools: Handson with data cataloguing (e.g., Purview, Data Hub), metadata management, and lineage tracking
• Security & Compliance: Knowledge of PII handling, access controls (RBAC, AD groups), RowLevel Security (RLS), and regulatory compliance (GDPR, local data laws)
