Greytip Software Private Limited is seeking a Data Migration Engineer to own end-to-end SAP S/4HANA migrations, spanning ECC to S/4HANA across on-premise, RISE with SAP, and GROW with SAP deployments.

You will drive the adoption of deKorvai, build reusable assets, validate data, and mentor teams as adoption scales, delivering hands-on implementations.

Responsibilities

• Own the full migration lifecycle: scoping, mapping, extraction, cleansing, transformation, load, validation, and cutover support.

• Analyze SAP ECC source landscapes and translate to S/4HANA target structures, considering simplification items.
• Handle non-SAP legacy sources within scope: other ERPs, databases, and flat files.
• Produce field-level mappings with business rules and transformation requirements.
• Write and tune SQL for profiling, transformation, and reconciliation on large data volumes.
• Develop Python scripts to automate extraction, validation, file handling, and reporting.
• Run mock loads, track statistics, drive defect resolution, and verify readiness against cutover criteria.
• Design validation controls to ensure evidence-based business sign-off.
• Collaborate with data owners and stakeholders on scope, cleansing, and timelines.

About the role

We are looking for a Data Migration Engineer to own end-to-end data migration for SAP S/4HANA programs, primarily migrating from SAP ECC legacy landscapes, across on-premise, RISE with SAP, and GROW with SAP deployments.

An important part of this role is the adoption of deKorvai, our BCS data migration tool. You will be expected to come up to speed on the platform quickly, use it as the primary delivery vehicle on assigned engagements, and bring your prior accelerator experience to bear in shaping how we use it — build patterns, reusable templates, validation approaches, and feedback into the product roadmap. Candidates who enjoy being early on a tool and setting the standard for others will get the most out of this position.

This is a hands‑on role with real delivery ownership, not a coordination‑only position.

Key responsibilities

• Own the full migration lifecycle for assigned objects: scoping, mapping, extraction, cleansing, transformation, load, validation, and cutover support.
• Adopt and deliver with deKorvai (BCS data migration tool) — learn the platform, configure and execute migrations on it, build reusable assets and templates, document working practices, and mentor others as adoption scales.
• Analyse SAP ECC source landscapes in depth (table structures, custom Z‑tables, custom fields, archived data, ECC‑specific configuration) and translate them into S/4HANA target structures, accounting for simplification items such as Business Partner conversion, ACDOCA, MATNR extension, and the removal of redundant index tables.
• Handle non‑SAP legacy sources where in scope: other ERPs, databases, and flat files.
• Produce field‑level mapping specifications with business rules, default logic, and transformation requirements.
• Write and tune SQL for profiling, transformation, reconciliation, and defect analysis on large data volumes.
• Develop Python scripts to automate repetitive extraction, validation, file handling, and reporting tasks.
• Run mock loads and dress rehearsals, track load statistics and error rates, drive defect resolution to closure, and report readiness against cutover criteria.
• Design and execute reconciliation and validation controls so that business sign‑off is evidence‑based rather than opinion‑based.
• Align with business data owners, functional leads, and system integrators on scope, rules, cleansing responsibilities, and timelines; elevate risks early with options rather than just problems.
• Produce and maintain delivery documentation: mapping specs, transformation rules, run books, cutover plans, defect logs, and handover material.
• Support hypercare and post‑go‑live data issues.

Required skills and experience

• 5–10 years in data migration, with at least 2 full‑cycle SAP S/4HANA migrations delivered.
• Strong hands‑on SAP ECC background as a source system — able to navigate ECC tables, identify custom objects, and work through data quality issues at source.
• Hands‑on delivery experience with at least one of the following third‑party accelerators: Syniti , Natuvion , SNP , or equivalent tooling.
• Working knowledge of SAP‑native migration options: SAP S/4HANA Migration Cockpit, LTMC / LTMOM, SAP Data Services (BODS), and LSMW where still relevant.
• Willingness and demonstrated ability to learn a new migration platform quickly and become productive on it — specifically deKorvai.
• Practical exposure to more than one deployment model: on‑premise, RISE with SAP, and/or GROW with SAP, including awareness of how each affects system access, landscape design, and cutover approach.
• Strong SQL: complex joins, aggregations, window functions, performance tuning on large datasets.
• Working Python skills for scripting and automation (pandas or equivalent).
• Solid understanding of core SAP master and transactional data objects, for example: business partner / customer / vendor, material master, BOM, pricing conditions, open items in FI/AR/AP, fixed assets, inventory, open POs and sales orders.
• Experience with cutover planning, mock cycles, and load sequencing dependencies.
• Clear written documentation and confident verbal communication with both technical and business stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ownership of deliverables against fixed dates in a programme environment.

Preferred

• SAP Activate methodology exposure; experience in selective data transition or brownfield ECC conversion alongside greenfield.
• Experience with SAP Readiness Check, Simplification Item Check, or custom code analysis in an ECC‑to‑S/4HANA context.
• Familiarity with SAP BTP, Datasphere, or Data Intelligence.
• Experience with data quality and governance tooling (SAP MDG, Information Steward, Collibra, or similar).
• ABAP debugging ability for root‑cause analysis on load errors and ECC extraction logic.
• Certification in a relevant migration platform or SAP S/4HANA module.
• Exposure to regulated or multi‑country rollouts with data residency constraints.
