Job description

About Us

At NHS Golden Jubilee University National Hospital, we’re proud to play a key role in supporting NHS Scotland by delivering high‑quality, person‑centred care. As a modern, national facility with state‑of‑the‑art clinical services and specialist teams, we help ensure patients across Scotland receive timely, safe and effective treatment.

About The Role

We are seeking a highly organised and motivated Data Manager to join the Scottish Adult Congenital Cardiac Service (SACCS) at NHS Golden Jubilee University National Hospital. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in supporting clinical governance, service improvement, and national audit programmes through the management, validation and analysis of complex clinical data.

Working closely with clinicians and multidisciplinary teams, you will help ensure that high-quality data informs improvements in patient care and clinical outcomes across Scotland and the wider UK.

This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute directly to the quality, safety and effectiveness of specialist cardiac services while developing expertise in clinical audit, healthcare analytics and governance. If you are passionate about using data to drive improvement, enjoy working collaboratively with clinical teams, and are committed to delivering high standards of accuracy and service excellence, we would welcome your application.

About You

As Data Manager, you will be responsible for reviewing, interpreting and validating clinical information from multiple systems and data sources to support national audit submissions, governance reporting and quality improvement initiatives. You will coordinate the collection and submission of audit data, produce regular performance reports and statistics, and provide expert advice on data quality, completeness and accuracy. The role will also involve supporting monthly clinical audit meetings and contributing to regional and national audit projects.

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with consultants, nurses, medical secretaries, service managers and external partners to ensure compliance with agreed clinical standards and audit requirements. You will act as a key point of contact for clinical audit activity, provide training and guidance on data collection processes, and support the ongoing development and effective use of clinical information systems.

You will have experience of data management within a healthcare, administrative or information environment, excellent organisational skills, strong analytical ability and a proven track record of working with complex datasets. Knowledge of clinical terminology, experience of Microsoft Office applications and the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders are essential. Previous NHS experience would be advantageous.
