Job summary

Morgan Stanley is seeking a Vice President to lead Data Governance within Firm Risk Management. You will drive prioritized risk data initiatives, define data ownership, and ensure high data quality and regulatory alignment across global risk domains.

You will mentor the team, liaise with senior stakeholders, and craft insightful reports for executive leadership while advancing data-driven risk analytics across FRM.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance or related discipline.
• 10+ years of work experience in financial services, with risk management or related functions.
• Strong knowledge of risk concepts and regulatory frameworks (BCBS 239, Basel III) and ability to relate data to business outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team to execute prioritized data initiatives in line with Global Data Policy and BCBS239 in FRM.
• Govern and advise risk coverage teams on data ownership, sourcing, controls and quality.
• Identify process improvements for risk data management and ensure timely escalation of issues.

We’re seeking someone to join our team as an Vice President Data Governance Role.

In the Firm Risk Management division, we advise businesses across the Firm on risk mitigation strategies, develop tools to analyze and monitor risks and lead key regulatory initiatives.

What you’ll do in the role:

• Leading a team to drive execution of prioritized data initiatives in compliance with the Global Data Policy and BCBS239 requirements across FRM
• Governing and advising risk coverage teams to identify and document risk data ownership, authority, sourcing, controls and quality
• Identifying and executing and work on areas for improvement in processes related to risk data management
• Liaising with data quality working groups across the Firm on pertinent issues Senior management reporting and presentations
• Team Management including mentor/coaching junior team members, provide supervisory oversight, coordination of the team’s tasks and escalating issues in a timely manner
• Develop and implement ongoing update, review and control for prioritized risk data

What you’ll bring to the role:

• Possess Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, or a related discipline
• 10+ years of work experience in the financial services industry preferably in risk management, finance, operation or equivalent experience
• Strong understanding of risk management concepts and financial products, particularly with respect to commercial financial market data Knowledge and exposure to US, EMEA and UK financial regulations including BCBS 239 and Basel III pertaining to risk data aggregation/reporting is preferred
• The ability to communicate with a wide range of stakeholders effectively and thoughtfully Strong organizational and project management skills Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
