Job summary

RAPSYS TECHNOLOGIES PTE LTD is seeking a Data Steward to build and oversee data governance, master data integrity, and data standards across the organization. You will work with SAP MDG, SQL, Python or R, and BI tools to ensure data quality and implement controls.

You will collaborate with business and IT teams, drive process improvements, and guide data-related initiatives from an end-to-end perspective, focusing on P2P, O2C, and R2R data flows.

Qualifications

• University master’s degree in computer science, information technology, business administration, or equivalent.
• Intercultural competence with fluent English communication, written and spoken.
• 3+ years as a Data Steward in a financial services context preferred.
• Hands-on with SAP MDG, SQL, Python or R, and BI tools; ability to drive data quality initiatives.

Job description

As a Data Steward, you would

• Build, implement, and oversee Data Governance Policy and data management strategies, ensuring data accuracy and consistency across the organization.
• Foster a mindset of continuous improvement, act as a Subject Matter Expert for Master Data, take ownership of master data integrity in key systems, and assist in the definition and application of data standards and guidelines.
• Ensure continuous data quality and data standards compliance across the enterprise.
• Implement and monitor internal controls.
• Work with a combination of Custom‑built tools, SAP MDG, Microsoft SQL or any similar tool, and Microsoft Office tools.
• Provide active improvement ideas to the tools created for centralized data services.
• Work and communicate internally with other team members and represent the organization’s centralized data services externally with customers.
• Ensure that everything you do is robust, sustainable, and scalable.
• Have the courage to question things and to speak up.

Your Task

• Develop, adapt, and refine Master Data operational processes using lean tools and best practices to deliver customer outcomes effectively, efficiently, and with quality.
• Identify and resolve data‑related issues, and develop and implement effective data governance strategies.
• Collaborate with various stakeholders to gather and analyze business processes, identify requirements, and other opportunities for improvement and growth.
• Project‑manage data‑related initiatives and provide training and support to business users on data governance principles and practices.
• Implement change management across the organization, influence and make recommendations to the business on the importance of having good data quality.
• Monitor data quality, identify data inconsistencies and errors, and work with relevant teams to rectify them.
• Assist operational teams in resolving data quality problems with high complexity.
• Work closely with the business & IT to ensure alignment of master data rules and requirements.

Your Profile

• University master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or equivalent experience.
• Intercultural competence and fluent English communication skills spoken and written; further languages are welcome.
• Experience working in the role of a Data Steward for a minimum of 3 years, ideally for a medium to large financial services organization.
• Hands‑on experience with data management tools such as SAP MDG, SQL, Python or R for data analysis, Power BI, QlikView and other lineage or data quality tools would be a nice to have.
• A change agent; able to drive and demonstrate progress with a view on E2E Process and Know‑How in P2P, O2C and R2R.
• Project management and Change management qualification or proven track record of successfully delivering added value to complex projects.
• Problem‑solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a collaborative and high‑pace environment.
• Passionate and enthusiastic about master data.
• Can‑do attitude and able to adapt to constant changes.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem‑solving skills.
