Job summary

IndiGo is seeking a Data Governance specialist responsible for designing the technical methodology to implement policies, guidelines, tools, metrics, and standards to advance data maturity across functions. You will establish a governance framework and collaborate with business and IT to document requirements and manage metadata.

The role emphasizes data quality, security, and compliance with GDPR/DPDP, exploration of data catalog implementations, and stewardship leadership to align data

Qualifications

• Degree in Legal, business administration, finance, IT or related field with certifications.
• Ability to translate complex business requirements into data requirements.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking and quantitative skills.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain a data governance framework with policies and standards.
• Document business requirements in BI context and develop governance methodologies.
• Collaborate with business and IT to define data domains and metadata catalog.
• Enforce governance, controls, and security across the organization.
• Lead Data Governance Stewardship Group meetings.
• Conduct periodic analysis to identify KPIs and governance templates.
• Monitor data governance framework effectiveness in cloud and propose improvements.

About the job

As a Data Governance, you are responsible to design the technical methodology to implement policies, guidelines, tools, metrics, and standards that help organization achieving the desired operational excellence and data maturity across clusters/functions.

Strongly Preferred

• Minimum 3+ years of experience as process champion /analyst
• Familiarization to Data Governance Platform such as Alation, Collibra
• Legal understanding including GDPR, DPDP,
• Framework Awareness to DAMA DMBOK, AI Governance
• Good understanding Data Office, DataOPS and FinOPS.

Job Role

• To implement and maintain a data governance framework, including policies, standards, procedures, and guidelines for the management and use of data, that assures adherence to organization policy guidelines and regulatory/compliance obligations and protect sensitive or confidential data.
• To understand/document business requirements in the BI context and develop a methodology to implement policies, guidelines, tools, metrics, and standards for managing metadata.
• Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to identify and define data domains, develop/ implement a data catalogue to ensure consistent, accurate, and complete data documentation.
• Be proactive and on the lookout for opportunity that helps enforce required governance, controls and security across the organization.
• Steer the Data Governance Stewardship Group meetings for aligning business functions on data governance initiatives.
• Conductperiodic analysisand research to identify keymetrics, benchmarks, governance template that help enhancing the data governance and opportunities for improvement.
• Implement data quality and data security controls to ensure that data is accurate, reliable, and secure.
• Develop data sharing agreements to ensure that data is available to those who need it while maintaining data security.
• Develop and implement control/KPI that assures desired data quality and availability.
• Monitor the effectiveness of the data governance framework in cloud through respective Data Governance tools and recommend improvements as necessary.

Desired Qualifications /Skills

• A degree in Legal, business administration, finance, IT or related field with necessary certifications
• Ability to interpret complex business requirements and translating them into data requirements to deliver high value outputs.
• Superior analytical, critical thinking and quantitative skills
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills in both technical and non-technical contexts including the ability to work with people from diverse cultures and nationalities.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
• Business oriented, experience in supporting teams in meeting their goals, good skills, and knowledge of facilitation.
