Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking a senior Data Engineer to design scalable data pipelines and IDM data integration solutions in a cloud-first environment. You will implement data validation, governance, and quality controls across identity-related data while collaborating with IDM architects and security teams.

The role focuses on building data lakes and warehouses, optimizing ETL/ELT processes, and ensuring compliance with privacy and IAM policies.

Qualifications

• 7.5+ years of experience in Data Engineering.
• Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory, Databricks, or equivalent cloud platforms.
• Hands on experience in Generative AI technologies including OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, Lang Chain, Agents, RAG, Vector Databases, Prompt Engineering, and fine-tuning.
• Experience with data governance, data quality, and metadata management frameworks.
• Solid SQL, Python, PySpark, and ETL/ELT development experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable data pipelines.
• Develop IDM data integration solutions.
• Implement data validation, cleansing, reconciliation, and governance frameworks to ensure accuracy and consistency of identity-related data.
• Design and optimize data models, data lakes, and warehouse structures to support identity analytics, access reviews, compliance reporting, and audit requirements.
• Design and implement solutions using Azure Data Factory, Databricks, SQL, Spark, or equivalent cloud-native data platforms.
• Optimize ETL/ELT processes, automate data workflows, and improve pipeline reliability, scalability, and monitoring.
• Ensure data engineering solutions comply with security standards, privacy regulations, audit requirements, and enterprise IAM policies.
• Work closely with IDM architects, security teams, application owners, and business stakeholders to define data requirements and deliver enterprise identity data solutions.
• Comply with all applicable Company policies, procedures, and business directives, changes including those relating to work location, team assignments, work schedules, and flexible work arrangements
