Cigna Health and Life Insurance Company in Bengaluru is seeking a Data Engineering Analyst to support the development, maintenance and optimization of cloud-based data and AI solutions, enabling analytics and automation across business units.

You will build and optimize data pipelines, collaborate with product owners and engineers, review code, and help deliver secure, scalable cloud platforms with reliable performance.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years in software or data engineering with cloud-native data solutions.
• Experience with AWS services such as S3, Lambda, IAM, or similar cloud technologies.
• Proficiency in SQL and Python for data analysis and processing.
• Knowledge of CI/CD, source control, and Agile practices.
• Exposure to GenAI platforms or AI productivity tools is a plus.

Overview

Cigna International Health is seeking a motivated Data Engineering Analyst to support the development, maintenance, and optimization of cloud-based data and AI solutions. This role will contribute to building scalable, secure, and reliable data platforms that enable business insights, analytics, automation, and AI-driven capabilities. The ideal candidate will collaborate with senior engineers and product teams to develop high-quality solutions, write clean and maintainable code, and support the successful delivery of data engineering initiatives aligned with business objectives.

Responsibilities

• Data Engineering & Development: Develop, enhance, and maintain cloud-based data solutions and pipelines. Support the implementation of AI and data platform capabilities under the guidance of senior engineers. Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following established development standards and best practices. Assist in designing and optimizing ETL/ELT workflows and data processing solutions. Participate in troubleshooting, monitoring, and improving platform reliability and performance.
• Collaboration & Delivery: Work closely with product owners, business stakeholders, and engineering teams to understand requirements and deliver solutions. Contribute to project execution, ensuring deliverables meet quality and timeline expectations. Participate in code reviews, testing activities, and deployment processes. Support the implementation of secure, scalable, and well-governed cloud solutions.
• Continuous Improvement: Learn and adopt emerging technologies, cloud services, and AI capabilities. Contribute ideas for automation, optimization, and process improvements. Participate in knowledge-sharing sessions and team collaboration activities.

Requirements

• Experience: 2-5 years of experience in software engineering, data engineering, with a strong record in cloud-native data solutions. Experience working with cloud platforms, preferably AWS. Familiarity with AWS services such as S3, Lambda, IAM, API Gateway, or similar cloud technologies. Exposure to Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation. Experience with data engineering technologies such as AWS Glue, Spark, Databricks, or equivalent. Proficiency in SQL for data analysis and transformation. Working knowledge of Python for automation and data processing. Familiarity with source control and CI/CD practices using tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or GitLab CI. Exposure to GenAI platforms such as AWS Bedrock, Azure AI, or similar technologies is a plus. Experience using AI productivity tools and basic prompt engineering techniques is desirable.
• Collaboration & Communication: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment. Good communication skills with the ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Eagerness to learn new technologies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Desirable: Understanding of Agile development methodologies. Exposure to Jira or similar project management tools. Knowledge of data governance, security, and cloud best practices. Experience working with global teams or healthcare/insurance domains is an advantage.
