Job summary

Google Operations Center is seeking a Data Engineer Specialist to build scalable data infrastructure and deliver decision-ready insights for Google's Stakeholders team.

You will design and deploy data solutions, collaborate with business and engineering teams, and help maintain dashboards and reporting infrastructure on large-scale production data.

Qualifications

In understanding the user need, we partner directly with Google's Stakeholders, Managers to create & maintain dashboards, resolve bugs and work on feature requests. Where there is a gap between business requirements and available products, we prioritize the need, identify solutions and deliver resulting product initiatives.

Position Responsibilities

• As a Data Engineer Specialist, you’ll develop the data infrastructure to ensure that Google's Stakeholders team members have the product, support, and operations data they need to make crucial business decisions.


• You’ll partner with our business and enablement teams to create visualization solutions and have the opportunity to design innovative data solutions while solving challenging problems using Google’s large-scale production data infrastructure.

Required Skills

• 2 years of experience working with advanced SQL: manipulating and managing large datasets to derive insights.


• Technical expertise in building, troubleshooting and maintaining ETL pipelines, knowledge in OLAP technologies and data warehousing.


• Hands-on experience developing and deploying applications utilizing Large Language Models (LLMs), including advanced prompt engineering techniques.


• Proven ability to take defined business requirements and execute the technical implementation of AI/LLM solutions under minimal supervision.


• Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.


• Effective communication and leadership skills.


• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

Preferred qualifications

Having as many of these specific qualifications is a plus, but transferable skills/experiences may be equally valuable:

• Basic to intermediate proficiency with Python


• Building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders.


• Identifying and capitalizing on technical improvement and optimization opportunities.


• Acting as a technical liaison between the business teams and Engineering.


• Supervising the design of new data products and optimizing how they will perform.


• Checking in and peer reviewing SQL.


• Debugging, root causing, communicating and fixing data discrepancy issues.
