Job summary

Merkle in Bengaluru is seeking a Senior Software Data Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable data engineering solutions using Python, SQL and Snowflake.

You will build and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines for large datasets, develop modern web apps with React, and leverage Generative AI/LLMs to solve business problems. You’ll work in Agile teams, implement CI/CD, and mentor junior developers.

Qualifications

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in Software Development, Data Engineering, or Data Platform Development.
• Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, and Snowflake development.
• Hands-on experience designing and implementing ETL/ELT pipelines, Data Warehouses, and Data Lakes.
• Experience building modern web applications using React.js and JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Working knowledge of Generative AI, LLMs, RAG architectures, AI agents, and AI-powered application development.
• Experience with Snowflake Tasks, Streams, Stored Procedures, Snowpark, and Dynamic Tables.
• Strong understanding of Data Modeling, Data Governance, and Data Quality principles.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, Agile/Scrum methodologies, and automated testing frameworks.
• Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, including services like S3, Lambda, Glue, ECS, or Bedrock.

• Work within Agile development teams, actively participating in sprint planning, stand‑ups, retrospectives, and code reviews.
• Design and implement Snowflake data architectures, including Tasks, Streams, Dynamic Tables, and performance optimization.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver scalable, data-driven solutions.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practices for application and data platform deployments.
• Establish and enforce coding standards, testing strategies, monitoring, and data governance practices.
• Mentor junior developers and provide technical leadership across projects.
• Analyze business and customer data to generate insights for decision-making and audience targeting initiatives.
• Work with cross‑functional teams including Product, Analytics, AI, and Engineering to deliver end‑to‑end solutions.
