Job summary

Google Operations Center is seeking a Data Engineering Lead to guide a high-performing team of Data and Web Analytics Engineers. You will ensure seamless data flow of website analytics into Google Cloud Platform, architect scalable data solutions, and drive AI initiatives.

You will collaborate with business stakeholders and product marketers to deliver impactful enterprise dashboards and data infrastructure improvements using BigQuery, Dataflow, and Looker.

Qualifications

• 12+ years designing, testing, optimizing, and troubleshooting enterprise-grade ETL/ELT solutions.
• 4+ years of hands-on experience with GCP, BigQuery, and Cloud Dataflow.
• 3+ years working with OLAP, advanced SQL, and data modeling.
• Proven track record of leading technical teams, driving sprints, and managing multiple data projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and code-review a team of Data Engineers and Web Analytics Engineers using Advanced SQL, BigQuery, Java & Python.
• Oversee end-to-end design and optimization of scalable data warehouses and pipelines (ETL/ELT) with GCP, BigQuery, and Dataflow.
• Own integrity and scalability of distributed data processing systems in GCP and NoSQL databases.
• Architect translations of business requirements into scalable AI and data solutions for cross-functional teams.
• Partner with business units to prioritise initiatives and deliver dashboards via Looker.

As a Data Engineering Lead , you will lead a high-performing team of Data Engineers and Web Analytics Engineers, collaborating directly with Business stakeholders and product marketers. Your goal would be to ensure seamless data flow of website analytics into Google Cloud Platform.

This role offers the unique opportunity to design innovative data solutions and solve complex scalability challenges using large-scale production data infrastructure, while pioneering our team's LLM and Generative AI initiatives.

Position Responsibilities:

• Lead, mentor, and code-review a team of Data Engineers and Web Analytics Engineers. Foster a culture of technical excellence, continuous learning, and agile delivery utilizing Advanced SQL, BigQuery, Java & Python
• Oversee the end-to-end design, development, and optimization of scalable data warehouses and pipelines (ETL/ELT). Act as the hands-on authority for orchestrating data workflows via Google Cloud Infrastructure especially BigQuery & Dataflow
• Own the integrity and scalability of our distributed data processing systems within Google Cloud Platform (GCP), leveraging various NoSQL databases to maintain high performance.
• Architect the technical translation of high-level business requirements into scalable AI and data solutions, ensuring seamless alignment across cross-functional engineering teams.
• Partner with business pillars to prioritize product initiatives, resolve technical bottlenecks, and deliver impactful enterprise dashboards via tools like Looker.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 12+ years of hands-on experience designing, testing, optimizing, and troubleshooting enterprise-grade ETL/ELT solutions.
• 4+ years of hands on experience with GCP infrastructure, BigQuery and Cloud Dataflow.
• 3+ years of experience working with OLAP systems, advanced SQL, and data modeling.
• Proven track record of managing technical teams, driving agile sprints, and managing multiple complex data projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Deep expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or similar large-scale distributed data infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of the AI toolkits similar to ADK, Anti Gravity, Vertex AI Agent Engine etc.
• Strong experience designing data warehouses tailored specifically for business performance management.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related quantitative field.
