Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer (IT Analyst Applications) to join our India GCC – GCIO ETL Services -CAT IT Division.

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer with expertise in SAP systems, analytics, and business intelligence to support data-driven initiatives in the manufacturing domain. The ideal candidate will design and maintain data pipelines, enable advanced analytics and visualization for operational excellence.

The preference for this role is to be based out of Bangalore – Caterpillar PSN.

What you will do
  • Data Engineering & Integration
  • Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines
  • Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from SAP and other enterprise systems into data lakes or warehouses.
  • Ensure high data quality, consistency, and availability for analytics and reporting.
  • Analytics Enablement
  • Collaborate with data analysts and business users to deliver actionable insights
  • Support development of dashboards, KPIs, and predictive models for production, quality, and supply chain optimization.
  • Implement data validation, anomaly detection, and performance monitoring mechanisms.
  • Design and develop interactive dashboards and visualizations using tools like Power BI, Tableau, or SAP Analytics Cloud would be a plus
  • Manufacturing Domain Expertise
  • Understand manufacturing processes, production workflows, and shop floor data requirements.
  • Enable real-time analytics for production monitoring, downtime analysis, and yield improvement.
  • Governance & Documentation
  • Maintain data lineage, metadata, and documentation for all data assets.
  • Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and audit requirements.
What you will have
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Data Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  • Overall 7+ years of relevant IT experience with at least 3 years in manufacturing environment.
  • Strong proficiency in Snowflake, SQL, Python, and ETL tools (e.g. Snaplogic).
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and data warehousing solutions (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift).
  • Exposure to Agile project methodologies and tools like Azure Devops , JIRA etc..
  • Work Timings: 1:00PM to 10:00PM IST (Approx.)
  • This position requires candidate to work a 5-day -a -week schedule in the office
Skills desired

Core Application Systems: Knowledge of major production application systems used for delivery of services to internal and external clients; ability to leverage major production application systems in diverse situations.
