Job summary

Standard India is seeking a Data Engineer III to join our Enterprise Data team in Bengaluru. You will design and implement data pipelines for various data types, applying business logic to transform data and deliver analytics-ready datasets.

You will manage storage with Azure Data Lake and Delta Lake, implement governance and security standards, and optimize Spark and Databricks workflows for cost efficiency.

Qualifications

Job Summary

We are seeking a Data Engineer III to join our Enterprise Data team. As a seasoned data engineer, you will design and implement data pipelines for structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data, apply business logic for transformation, and manage storage solutions like Azure Data Lake and Delta Lake. You will deliver analytics-ready and AI-ready datasets, ensure governance and security standards, optimize performance for cost and scalability, and collaborate with cross-functional teams while mentoring junior engineers.

In this role, you will build and maintain ingestion pipelines for structured, semi‑structured, and unstructured data while applying transformation logic across the bronze, silver, and gold layers to support analytics and AI. You will manage data storage and optimize the use of Azure Data Lake, Delta Lake, and related services, delivering curated datasets for a variety of analytics and AI use cases. Additionally, you will implement governance, security, and compliance standards using Unity Catalog, optimize Spark and Databricks workflows for performance and cost efficiency, and collaborate closely with data scientists, analysts, and engineers while also mentoring junior team members.

• Ability to work on-site in Bengaluru, India is a requirement of the role.

Mode of Working: This role follows a hybrid work model, with a primary base in Bengaluru. While on-site presence is essential for key engagements, flexibility is offered for remote work based on business needs and team alignment.

Skills And Background You’ll Need

Education:

A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field is required.

Experience:

Minimum 5 years in data engineering.
