Job summary

Optum India is seeking a senior Data Engineer to design, develop, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines using Databricks, Snowflake, Python, and Teradata. You will build scalable data solutions supporting enterprise reporting, analytics, and AI/ML initiatives.

Role requires 5+ years in data engineering, strong SQL/data modeling, and experience with Airflow and GitHub Copilot. Knowledge of healthcare data and governance is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IS or related field

Primary Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines using Databricks, Snowflake, Python, and Teradata
• Build scalable data solutions supporting enterprise reporting, analytics, and AI/ML initiatives
• Develop and support workflow orchestration using Airflow
• Perform data analysis, data quality validation, and performance tuning
• Collaborate with business and technical teams to gather requirements and deliver data solutions
• Implement CI/CD and code management practices using GitHub and GitHub Copilot
• Support production deployments, issue resolution, and operational monitoring
• Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and healthcare regulations
• Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
• 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Warehousing, or ETL development
• Solid hands-on experience with Databricks, Snowflake, Teradata, Python, and UNIX
• Experience with Airflow and GitHub/GitHub Copilot
• Solid SQL and data modeling skills
• Knowledge of AI/ML concepts and data engineering support for ML workloads
• Proven excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills

Preferred Qualification

• Healthcare domain experience with Customer, Member, and Provider data
