Job description

Purpose of the role

In the context of the introduction of "Oerlikon One Data Platform" (ODP), there is a high need for expertise in data engineering within the Microsoft Azure environment, specifically Azure Data Factory and Azure Fabric. The purpose of this position is to deliver and maintain "Data Products", i.e. solutions that make data from different sources available for usage. The holder of this position is responsible for analyzing business requirements, transferring them into solution concepts, and implementing those on the Microsoft‑based cloud data platform. Maintenance and support work for the data platform are also part of the position.

Required Education

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field
• Certification in Microsoft Azure Data Factory and/or Azure Fabric

Required Experience & Knowledge

• At least 4 years of work experience in roles related to data management and analytics, such as data engineer or data architect
• Experience in multinational and geographically distributed work environments
• Proficiency in data modeling methodologies and tools; knowledge of normalization and experience designing entity‑relationship diagrams and data flow diagrams
• Experience with cloud data platform solutions, including data storage, integration tools and frameworks, data management, and data governance products
• Knowledge and practical experience with DevOps principles and tools, including CI/CD on Azure and GitHub
• Proficiency in English (C1 or higher)
• Ability to analyze business requirements related to data management and analytics
• Capability to develop solution concepts following guidelines, templates, and best practices
• Technical skill to implement data management solutions, including integration, transformation, data modelling, and storage on Microsoft platforms
• Responsibility for delivering maintenance for developed solutions
