Job summary

Edwards Vacuum is hiring a Data Engineer to join the Azure Data Platform Team. You will build and optimize scalable data pipelines on the cloud, collaborating with product and platform teams to ensure well-structured data and efficient storage for actionable insights.

You will work with Azure Data Lake, Synapse, Data Factory, Databricks, and SQL Database, applying data modeling and governance practices to deliver robust data solutions across the organization.

Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in Azure data engineering roles.
• Extensive experience delivering data solutions using Azure Data Services.
• Experience with ETL technologies and techniques.
• Hands-on with Python.
• Ability to collaborate with colleagues with and without technical expertise.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; self-starter who proactively seeks answers and takes responsibility to deliver results.
• Advanced skills in SQL and proficiency in Python and PySpark with data warehouse design concepts.
• Hands-on experience with Azure data services such as Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and Azure SQL Database.
• Demonstrable experience with data warehouse, data lake, and big data platform technologies (SAP BW, Snowflake, Azure Data Platform, ETL technologies).

Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy scalable data solutions on the cloud platform.
• Build and maintain data pipelines to ETL data from various sources into Azure Data Platform Services and other data repositories.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to understand data requirements and translate them into data pipelines and technical solutions.
• Understand data models that represent the organization’s data requirements and relationships, including conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
• Define and maintain clear documentation for data pipelines to serve as references for Data Owners, Data Stewards, and technical support teams; support the Data Architect to maintain broader data architecture assets as required.
• Apply normalization techniques to eliminate data redundancy, ensure consistency, and improve data integrity.
• Ensure compliance with data governance and data management processes when building data models (e.g., data privacy and security considerations).
• Assess and take action to address data performance issues related to data models and database designs.
• Continuously optimize data pipelines for performance, ensuring models support efficient data retrieval and manipulation.

Your Role

The Data Engineer is an individual contributor member of the Azure Data Platform Team. They forge relationships with multiple product and platform teams to actively contribute to the implementation of data solutions that ensure organizational data is well structured, easily accessible, and efficiently stored, enabling the Business to better exploit its data. They have expertise in data engineering and modern cloud platform data services.

Main Responsibilities

• Advanced skills in SQL and proficiency in programming languages such as Python and PySpark with clear experience in data warehouse design concepts.
• Hands‑on experience with Azure data services such as Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and Azure SQL Database.
• Demonstrable experience working with data warehouse, data lake, and big data platform technologies (e.g., SAP BW, Snowflake, Azure Data Platform, ETL technologies).

Nice to Have Skills
