Job summary

Barclays in Pune seeks a Data Engineer to lead the evolution of our data infrastructure, deployment pipelines and secure data delivery for digital solutions. You will build scalable data pipelines, data warehouses and data lakes while applying best practices in security and governance.

You will apply strong SAP BusinessObjects experience, and work with cloud platforms, CI/CD and DevOps to enable reliable data processing and analytics at scale.

Qualifications

  • Experience administering SAP BusinessObjects BI platforms with strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Proficient in Windows Server and Linux/Unix environments.
  • Hands-on with SAP BO installation, upgrades, patching, and migrations.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain data architectures, pipelines, warehouses and lakes with secure data handling.
  • Collaborate with data scientists to deploy ML models and enhance data workflows.
  • Manage risk, controls and change management in data infrastructure.

Job description

Join us as a Data Engineer, at Barclays, where you will spearhead the evolution of our infrastructure and deployment pipelines, driving innovation and operational excellence. You will harness cutting-edge technology to build and manage robust, scalable and secure infrastructure, ensuring seamless delivery of our digital solutions.

To be successful as a Data Engineer,you should have experience with:

  • Strong experience in SAP BusinessObjects Administration and Support.
  • Hands-on experience with SAP BO BI 4.x platform administration.
  • In-depth knowledge of Central Management Console, File Repository Server & Information Design Tool.
  • Experience with SAP BO installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, and migrations.
  • Good understanding of Windows Server administration.
  • Understanding of Linux/Unix operating systems.
  • Strong SQL and database troubleshooting skills.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, Snowflake, Databricks Platforms.
  • Familiarity with ITIL-based support frameworks.

Some other highly valued skills may include:

  • Experience with SAP BusinessObjects BI 2025 upgrade projects.
  • Knowledge of Tableau, Power BI, or Qlik platforms.
  • Experience with automation scripting (PowerShell, Python, Shell Scripting).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and release automation.
  • Experience in SAP BusinessObjects Administration and Enterprise BI Platform Support.

The role is based out of Pune.

Purpose of the role

To build and maintain the systems that collect, store, process, and analyse data, such as data pipelines, data warehouses and data lakes to ensure that all data is accurate, accessible, and secure.

Accountabilities
  • Build and maintenance of data architectures pipelines that enable the transfer and processing of durable, complete and consistent data.
  • Design and implementation of data warehoused and data lakes that manage the appropriate data volumes and velocity and adhere to the required security measures.
  • Development of processing and analysis algorithms fit for the intended data complexity and volumes.
  • Collaboration with data scientist to build and deploy machine learning models.
