Job summary

Galaxy Digital Inc. in Mumbai, India, is seeking an experienced Data Platform Engineer to build and operate scalable data infrastructure. You will own monitoring, dataops, and orchestration with Kafka, Databricks/Spark, dbt, Airflow, and AWS.

You’ll collaborate with product and analytics to deliver robust pipelines and embrace AI to drive performance. You will contribute to a hybrid work model and work with cross-functional teams to ensure reliability, data quality, and efficient data delivery

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years building data or platform engineering systems in production.
• Strong coding skills in Python or Java.
• Experience operating production data platforms on AWS and supporting downstream teams.
• HANDS-ON with Kubernetes and Terraform.
• Experience running Kafka in event-driven systems.
• Working knowledge of Databricks/Spark, dbt, and Airflow.
• Solid grasp of data modeling, data quality, and relational/non-relational databases.
• Comfortable with CI/CD, testing frameworks, and observability tooling.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain tooling and infrastructure enabling data pipelines.
• Own monitoring, alerting, and dataops practices for reliability at scale.
• Operate Kafka as the message broker for cross-team event-driven architecture.
• Deploy and maintain infrastructure components with Terraform and Kubernetes.
• Run high-throughput, low-latency processing on Databricks/Spark and AWS services.
• Support dbt for transformations and Airflow for orchestration.
• Collaborate with product/analytics/infrastructure on platform improvements.
• Troubleshoot production issues and drive fixes.
• Leverage AI tools to improve productivity and outcomes.

Who You Are

You're a hands-on engineer with several years of experience building and operating production data platforms. You're fluent in Python or Java and comfortable across the modern data stack — AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, Kafka, and Databricks/Spark. You care about reliability and developer experience, write clean and well-tested code, and like enabling other teams to move fast on infrastructure you own. You're curious about crypto and energized by working at the intersection of finance and emerging technology.

What You’ll Do

• Build and maintain the tooling and infrastructure that lets data champions ship pipelines autonomously
• Own monitoring, alerting, and dataops practices that keep the platform reliable as it scales
• Operate Kafka as the message broker powering cross-team event-driven architecture
• Deploy, own and maintain infrastructure components (services, OSS helm charts) with Terraform and Kubernetes
• Run high-throughput, low-latency processing on Databricks/Spark and cloud-native services on AWS
• Support dbt for transformations and Airflow (or similar) for orchestration across the platformli >
• Partner with product, analytics, and infrastructure teams on design and delivery of platform improvements
• Troubleshoot production issues and drive the fixes
• Embrace and champion the thoughtful adoption of AI to improve team performance and business outcomes.
• Leverage AI tools (e.g., generative AI, automation platforms, data copilots) to improve productivity, decision-making, and output quality in your day-to-day work.

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• 5+ years building data or platform engineering systems in production
• Strong coding skills in Python or Java
• Experience operating production data platforms on AWS and supporting downstream teams who build on them
• Hands-on with Kubernetes and Terraform
• Experience running Kafka (or a similar broker) in event-driven systems
• Working knowledge of Databricks/Spark, dbt, and Airflow
• Solid grasp of data modeling, data quality, and relational and non-relational databases (e.g., Postgres, SQL Server)
• Comfortable with CI/CD, testing frameworks, and observability tooling

Bonus Points

• Experience with dashboarding technologies
• Experience with streaming engine (flink, kdb)
• Full lifecycle development of a commercial system, including: requirements definition, agile planning, releasing, and production support
• Experience in Crypto
