Job summary

Certara is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join a global IT team. You will design and operate cloud-hosted data warehouses, build scalable pipelines, and enable enterprise BI with Power BI and analytics platforms.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, mentor juniors, and ensure data quality and security across systems while staying current with industry trends and governance policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information systems required.
• Proficiency in SQL for data querying, manipulation and optimization.
• Proficiency in Data Modelling and Architecture.
• 5-8 years hands-on experience in end-to-end Data Engineering.
• 5+ years of cloud technologies experience (Snowflake, Microsoft Azure).
• 5+ years experience with ETL/orchestration tools (Workato, Azure Data Factory, Talend).
• Experience with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau) a plus.
• Experience with Git, DevOps, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience handling large data sets with focus on reliability and availability.
• Excellent communication for stakeholder engagement and data product delivery.

About The Role

As a Data Engineer with Certara, you are part of a global, fast-paced IT organization with the primary mission to provide capable & resilient world class services to professional services, software, and corporate business units ensuring our team members have access and ability to perform at the highest level in service of our customers.

The Information Technology function relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals through implementation of industry best practice methodologies, governance, and tooling. The Data Engineer role is responsible for the development and design plus subsequent management and efficient operations of a cloud hosted data warehouse. The role will also establish data analysis capabilities via PowerBI and implement an integration platform strategy to govern the necessary data extractions.

The role requires a rich understanding of data warehouse design principles as applied to empower organizational wide business intelligence efforts.

Responsibilities

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information systems

• At least 5 years of experience with cloud technologies (Snowflake, Microsoft Azure)

• Experience with Git, DevOps, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience working with large data sets (terabytes and larger) in a data ecosystem with emphasis on data reliability and availability.
• Excellent communication skills for engaging with stakeholders, facilitating discussions, and conveying complex technical concepts. Ability to educate and guide stakeholders while maintaining data quality standards and delivering a high-quality data product is necessary.
