Job summary

AkzoNobel seeks a Data Domain Expert to support its Commercial & Sales data domain within the MDM CoE. The role emphasizes mastering customer master and pricing data, delivering governance, and ensuring high-quality, controlled data for business processes.

The candidate should have a strong background in SAP MDG and MDM governance, with extensive experience across data domains in a complex IT landscape and excellent stakeholder communication skills.

Qualifications

• Post-graduation in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, IT or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum 8 overall experience with 5 in MDM related function, supporting Commercial functions.
• Strong working knowledge of SAP and SAP MDG experience preferred.
• Strong domain knowledge of customer master and pricing data.
• Experience in Master Data Governance; development and implementation of best MDM governance practices.
• Excellent communication skills to discuss requirements with stakeholders and teams.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for activities done by the CoE for the Commercial & Sales domain in alignment with the MDM Roadmap.
• Drives standardized Commercial End-to-End Processes and Tools around MDM to improve quality of delivery and customer experience.
• Support the MDS CoE Team Lead to build an MDM roadmap for Commercial & Sales domain.
• Support the scope and activities of projects and processes and ensure execution.
• Responsible for implementing proper preventive/detective controls for CRUD activities of MDS Operations for Commercial & Sales.

The innovative and effective deployment of data and analytics is key to the success of companies today. AkzoNobel is no exception as we seek to embed the improved understanding of data across the company. Identifying and implementing opportunities to optimize the use of data within our R&D, Manufacturing, Integrated Supply Chain, Marketing and Sales, Finance, HR and Sourcing Functions have been services delivered from our MDM Global Organisation over the last few years. We need additional support in these areas with a strong focus on Commercial and Sales (Customer master and Pricing data). For these reasons, GBS Master Data Services requires a Data Domain Expert to support our Commercial function.

Key Accountabilities

• Responsible for (or support) the activities done by the CoE for the Commercial & Sales domain in alignment the MDM Roadmap
• Drives standardized Commercial End to End Processes and Tools around MDM to Improve Quality of Delivery, Optimize Cost to Serve, Control & Compliance, and Enhancing Customer Experience
• Support the MDS CoE Team Lead to build an MDM roadmap for theCommercial & Sales domain
• Support the scope and activities of projects and processes and ensures execution
• Responsible for(or support) implementing proper preventive/detective controls for the CRUD activities of MDS Operations for Commercial & Sales
• Manage escalation process of Commercial & Sales issues or support the resolution of issues raised by business to the CoE
• Act as a change agent and communicator for MDS, enabling continuous commitment for and awareness of MDM
• IM touchpoint, driving master data standardization, organizational and system alignment for the Commercial & Sales domain
• Continued focus on Commercial & Sales innovation and standardization to drive down total cost-to-serve and enhance customer satisfaction through improved quality of processes
• Foster communication and teamwork within, and across, organizational boundaries
• Ability to analyze, design and implement the need for MDM in high complexity landscapes, both from system perspective and organizational perspective for Commercial & Sales.
• Ability to utilize metrics to identify opportunities for service improvement
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

Experience

• Post-graduation in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, IT or equivalent work experience
• Minimum 8 overall experience with 5 experience in MDM related function, supporting our Commercial functions
• Strong working knowledge of SAP and SAP MDG experience preferred
• Strong domain knowledge of customer master and pricing data.
• Good data profiling and analytical skills.
• Commercial Services, Sales, Customer Relations or equivalent background a plus
• Experience in Master Data Governance; development and implementation of best MDM governance practices.
• Ability to deliver quality work within strict deadlines while managing multiple priorities and acting with a sense of urgency.
• Very good communication skills must be able to discuss the requirements effectively with stakeholders, the external teams, and with internal teams.
• Continuous Improvement focused, relevant CI certification a bonus
• Experience in Project Management, with supporting certification preferred
• Advanced interpersonal and cultural skills including fluent English, with any other important language(s) an advantage.
• Experience in complex IT system environments as key user
• Experience in complex business environments with multiple stakeholders, including service providers for both IT as organizational/process capabilities
• Leverages business understanding and its requirements to run MDM operations with the right level of controls in place
• Keeps deadlines and produces high quality output
• Fosters a constructive dialogue with support functions and key stakeholders
