Amazon Data Services India Private Limited (ADSIPL) is seeking a Data Centre Linux & HW Engineer to join its Operations team in India. The role focuses on maintaining and expanding the data center infrastructure with emphasis on hardware and network reliability.

You will work across hardware maintenance, incident response, and on-call rotations, ensuring SLAs are met while contributing to documentation and process improvements. A strong bias toward safety and operational excellence is required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of hardware troubleshooting experience.
• 1+ years of networking experience.
• High school or equivalent diploma.

Responsibilities

• Operate as part of the Operations team responsible for data center infrastructure maintenance.
• Perform server rack installation and hardware break-fix; troubleshoot network issues and respond to incidents affecting operational stability.
• Serve as a primary contact point for internal and external customers and partners.
• Meet SLAs through directed workflows; be the first-line for hardware troubleshooting and technical issues.
• Perform on-call duties and participate in planned data center maintenance and change management activities.
• Participate in team meetings to review metrics and daily/weekly goals.
• Understand and apply safety, security, and operational procedures within the department.
• Document technical issues and contribute to root cause analysis and process improvements.
• Mentor less experienced colleagues as needed.
• Role involves covering 24x7 shift rotation.

A Data Centre Linux & HW Engineer at ADSIPL may be the primary point of contact for both internal customers (for example: Network Engineers, Systems Engineers, Software Developers, Database Engineers, Technical Operations) and external customers (Hardware Vendors, Contractors, Service Providers among others).

Key job responsibilities

A Data Centre Operation Technician at ADSIPL, expectation from role are:

• You work as part of the Operations team, whose primary responsibility is the maintenance and upkeep of the data center infrastructure.
• your role and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, server rack installation, hardware break-fix on various components, troubleshooting network issues also responding to emergent situations that affect operational stability.
• You may be the primary contact point for both internal customers (for example: Network Engineers, Systems Engineers, Software Developers, Technical Operations) and external service partners (Hardware Vendors, Contractors, Service Providers among others).
• You will work and meet SLAs against assigned trouble tickets via a directed workflow, be the first line touch point for hardware troubleshooting and technical issues.
• You perform on-call duties and will participate in Data Center operations, handling scheduled maintenance and change management activities that require monitoring of the data center infrastructure.
• You participate in team meetings for metric analysis and to discuss achieving daily/weekly goals.
• You possess knowledge of the policies and procedures, including safety and security, within your department, and understand the appropriate application of such knowledge
• You contribute to documentation on technical issues through root cause analysis for operational issues that occur, and contribute to process improvement initiatives relevant to the data center environment.
• More experienced technicians may assist in training less experienced members of the team.
• This role involves covering 24x7 shift rotation

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
