Job summary

Tata AutoComp is seeking a Data Center Expert and Project Manager to lead the planning, design, and delivery of mission-critical data center projects in Pune. You will oversee mechanical, electrical, IT, and safety domains to ensure seamless integration and ready-for-operations handover.

You will manage scope, schedules, risks, and stakeholder reporting, coordinating cross-functional teams to meet tight deadlines while maintaining high safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of data center project management experience.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, MEP, fire protection, and IT infrastructure.
  • Proven track record in risk management, integrated testing, and operational handover.
  • PMP or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Excellent stakeholder communication and reporting.
  • Strong leadership in cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Define program scope with objectives, deliverables and success criteria.
  • Develop and maintain an integrated master schedule across domains.
  • Review and approve change requests ensuring alignment with project goals.
  • Provide regular progress reports to sponsors and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate validation, testing, and risk resolution across systems.
  • Deliver As-Built documentation and operational handover.

Job description

We are looking for candidates with strong Data Center Integration and Project Delivery experience, not just Data Center Operations experience.

Highly skilled Data Center Expert and Project Manager to lead the planning, designing, execution, and delivery of mission-critical data center projects. This role requires expertise across mechanical, electrical, IT, and safety domains, ensuring seamless integration of systems and operational readiness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Scope Definition: Establish clear objectives, deliverables, and success criteria for data center projects.
  • Integrated Master Schedule: Develop and maintain a comprehensive project schedule covering all domains.
  • Change Management: Review and approve change requests, ensuring alignment with project goals.
  • Progress Reporting: Provide regular updates to sponsors and stakeholders.
Technical Expertise
  • Thermal Management: Optimize cooling strategies, including hot/cold aisle containment.
  • Rack Systems: Manage rack deployment and containment solutions.
  • Fire Protection & Security: Oversee IT domain fire protection and monitoring systems.
  • Mechanical & Electrical Systems: Coordinate installation and commissioning of MEP systems.
  • Safety Installations: Ensure compliance with safety standards and protocols.
  • HVAC & AC Systems: Manage design, installation, and performance testing.
  • Electrical Services: Coordinate electrical distribution and backup systems.
  • Structural Works: Oversee civil works including fire barriers and structural safety.
  • Ventilation Domain: Implement fire protection and security monitoring in ventilation systems.
Testing & Validation
  • Integrated Systems Testing (IST): Conduct end-to-end system validation.
  • Failover & Load Tests: Ensure redundancy and resilience under stress conditions.
  • Risk & Issue Resolution: Identify, track, and resolve cross-domain risks.
Documentation & Handover
  • As-Built Documentation: Deliver accurate manuals and drawings.
  • Operational Handover: Transition systems to facilities management teams.
  • Post-Commissioning Rectification: Address defects and ensure operational excellence.
Qualifications
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical/Civil/IT).
  • 8+ years of experience in data center project management.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, MEP, fire protection, and IT infrastructure.
  • Proven track record in risk management, integrated testing, and operational handover.
  • PMP or equivalent certification preferred.
