Job summary

Matrix Hr Technologies in Chennai invites an experienced Data Architect role focusing on mapping source systems to AEP XDM schemas, and modelling data at scale.

You will write complex SQL, work with BigQuery, Snowflake, and data dictionaries, and own metadata governance across pipelines.

Ideal candidates have strong data modelling, ERD knowledge, and the ability to design scalable data solutions.

Qualifications

• Strong data modelling fundamentals including relationships, keys, and cardinalities.
• Hands-on SQL across source systems and large-scale query engines.
• Experience producing data dictionaries and source-to-target mapping documents.
• Ability to map a source system to a target schema independently.
• Experience in Data Architecture and Data Modeling.
• Experience with Structured, Semi-Structured, and Unstructured Data.
• Knowledge of ERD, Relational DB models, keys, and cardinality.
• Hands-on expertise in SQL and Python.
• Experience writing complex SQL queries with multi-table joins and large-scale data processing.
• Familiarity with metadata management concepts.

Responsibilities

• Understand source systems and map them to AEP XDM Schemas using LDM methodology.
• Work with structured and semi structured data formats across diverse pipelines.
• Define entity relationships, cardinalities, and ER diagrams.
• Write and optimise SQL at source and within AEP Query Service, including joins, filters, and aggregations.
• Own source to target mapping, metadata documentation, and schema governance.

Role Overview

This role requires deep data expertise that goes beyond tool familiarity. The ideal candidate will have worked close to the data layer, modelling it, mapping it, and querying it at scale across complex enterprise environments.

Relevant Backgrounds

Candidates may come from any of the following areas:

• Cloud Data Warehouses such as BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift, or Synapse, with experience modelling and querying large, complex datasets.
• Marketing Tech or Campaign Platforms, with ownership of source to target mapping, metadata mapping, and data dictionaries (not campaign execution).
• MDM Platforms, with hands on work in master data, entity resolution, and identity stitching.

Key Responsibilities

• Understand source systems and map them to AEP XDM Schemas using LDM methodology.
• Work with structured and semi structured data formats across diverse pipelines.

• Strong knowledge of Entity Relationship Diagrams (ERD), Relational Database Models (RDBMS), relationships, keys, and cardinality.
• Strong hands-on expertise in SQL and Python (Mandatory).
• Experience writing complex SQL queries, including multi-table joins and large-scale data processing.
• Experience creating Data Dictionaries and Source-to-Target Mapping (STTM) documents.
• Ability to independently map source systems to target schemas.
• Good understanding of Metadata and metadata management concepts.
• Strong analytical and architectural thinking with the ability to design scalable data solutions.
• Experience working as an Individual Contributor (IC) is acceptable; a Data Architect title is not mandatory if the candidate has relevant architecture experience.
