Job summary

The AES Group in Bengaluru seeks an experienced Data Architect to lead enterprise data modelling and architecture for complex financial systems. You will design and document current-state and target-state data architectures, and define scalable data solutions with strong governance.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years in data architecture, with Oracle, PostgreSQL, Cassandra experience and familiarity with DDD, CQRS and financial services domains. Cloud/hybrid data architectures are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and document current-state and target-state enterprise data architectures.
• Develop and maintain domain, conceptual, logical and physical data models.

• Collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, application teams and engineering teams.
• Define enterprise data models, database architecture and integration patterns.
• Work with Oracle, PostgreSQL, Cassandra and distributed database platforms.
• Contribute to data architecture governance and enterprise data strategy.
• Assess existing systems and recommend data modernization and optimization opportunities.
• Support data migration, integration and transformation initiatives.
• Ensure architecture supports performance, scalability, resiliency and disaster recovery requirements.
• Prepare architecture documentation, presentations and technical artifacts.
• Work closely with development and infrastructure teams to ensure implementation follows architecture standards.

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Data Architect with 10+ years of experience in enterprise data architecture, data modelling, RDBMS and NoSQL/distributed databases.

The role involves designing and documenting enterprise data architectures, developing conceptual/logical/physical data models, and defining scalable and resilient data solutions for complex financial systems.

The ideal candidate should have strong experience with Oracle/PostgreSQL, Cassandra and distributed database technologies, along with exposure to Domain-Driven Design (DDD), CQRS and financial services/capital markets.

Required Technical Skills

• 10+ years of experience in Data Architecture and Enterprise Data Modelling.
• Strong experience in data modelling and database architecture.
• Hands-on experience with RDBMS - Oracle and/or PostgreSQL.
• Strong experience with NoSQL / distributed database design.
• Experience with Cassandra.
• Experience with YugabyteDB, GCP Spanner or similar distributed databases is an advantage.
• Strong understanding of Domain-Driven Design (DDD) and CQRS.
• Strong knowledge of normalization, denormalization and distributed data design.
• Experience developing domain, conceptual, logical and physical data models.
• Experience with data modelling tools such as ER/Studio or Hackolade is preferred.
• Good understanding of enterprise integration and data governance.
• Exposure to cloud and hybrid data architectures is preferred.

Domain Experience

Experience in one or more of the following is preferred:

• Regulatory / Financial Systems

Knowledge of financial data domains and transactional systems will be an advantage.
