Professionals in this role will collaborate with cross-functional teams to build enterprise‑grade business intelligence solutions and support data‑driven decision making.
Key Responsibilities
- Power BI Dashboard Development. You design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and paginated reports using Power BI Desktop and publish them to Power BI Service. These dashboards enable stakeholders to monitor performance metrics and business KPIs in real time.
- Data Modelling and DAX Optimization. You build robust semantic data models using a star or snowflake schema and create efficient DAX measures and calculated columns to ensure reports are accurate and optimized for performance.
- Data Preparation with Power Query. You develop and manage Power Query (M) transformations and reusable Dataflows to streamline data preparation and ensure consistent, governed, scalable data pipelines across business units.
- Power BI Administration. You manage workspaces, datasets, data gateways, refresh schedules, and deployment pipelines while following industry best practices to maintain a well‑governed Power BI environment.
- Security and Data Governance. You implement Row‑Level Security (RLS), Object‑Level Security (OLS), enforce governance standards, including workspace roles, sensitivity labels, and tenant policies.
- Integration with Power Platform. You integrate Power BI solutions with Power Automate and Power Apps, enabling automated workflows, notifications, and analytics‑driven business applications.
- Custom Visual Development. When required, you develop or configure custom Power BI visuals to enhance the reporting experience and support advanced UI/UX requirements.
- SQL and Data Engineering Collaboration. You use strong SQL skills to extract, transform, and optimize data from various sources, collaborating closely with data engineering teams on ETL processes and performance tuning.
- Stakeholder Engagement. You conduct stakeholder workshops to gather requirements, define KPIs, and validate analytics deliverables against business objectives.
- Performance Monitoring and Training. You monitor usage analytics, track report performance, continuously improve dashboard design, document solutions, and provide training sessions and demos for end users.
Required Qualifications
- Hands‑on experience with Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service
- Strong expertise in advanced DAX and performance optimization
- Experience with Power Query (M) transformations and Dataflows
- Integration knowledge of Power Automate workflows
- Experience building applications with Power Apps
- Ability to configure or develop custom Power BI visuals
- Strong SQL skills (T‑SQL / ANSI SQL) for data extraction and modelling
- Knowledge of data modelling techniques such as star and snowflake schema
