Persistent is seeking an experienced Data Analyst focused on healthcare data analytics and Azure Databricks. With 8+ years of experience, you will analyze claims data, develop STM documents, and bridge business and technical teams to deliver analysis-ready datasets.

You will optimize SQL, validate pipelines, support data quality, and collaborate with data engineers, analytics, and AI/ML initiatives while upholding data standards and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Strong expertise in Azure Databricks, SQL, and data profiling.
• Experience building STM (Source-to-Target Mapping) documents and data lineage.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed data profiling and analysis of healthcare datasets (claims, member, provider, financial).
• Develop and maintain Source-to-Target Mapping (STM) documents for data migration and transformation.
• Define business rules, data definitions, transformation logic, and data quality standards.
• Identify data anomalies, discrepancies, and trends; collaborate with stakeholders to resolve issues.
• Support data lineage, metadata management, and business glossary initiatives.

About Position:

We are seeking an experienced Data Analyst Healthcare (Azure Databricks) with 8+ years of experience in healthcare data analytics, data profiling, source-to-target mapping, and modern cloud-based data platforms. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in healthcare claims data, advanced SQL development, Azure Databricks, and business data analysis. This role will act as a critical bridge between business stakeholders, data engineering teams, analytics teams, and AI/ML initiatives to ensure delivery of high-quality, analysis-ready datasets.

What You'll Do:

• Perform detailed data profiling and analysis of complex healthcare datasets including claims, member, provider, dental, vision, and financial data.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive Source-to-Target Mapping (STM) documents for data migration and transformation initiatives.
• Define business rules, data definitions, transformation logic, and data quality standards.
• Identify data anomalies, inconsistencies, and trends and work with stakeholders to resolve issues.
• Support data lineage, metadata management, and business glossary creation initiatives.

• Develop and execute data validation frameworks to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
• Establish reconciliation processes and quality monitoring mechanisms.
• Drive governance initiatives related to data standards, lineage, and compliance.
• Ensure business-ready and analysis-ready datasets for reporting, forecasting, and AI/ML initiatives.
• Support implementation of data engineering best practices, automation, monitoring, and governance standards.

Expertise you will bring:

• 8+ years of experience in Data Analysis, Data Warehousing, or Healthcare Analytics.
• Minimum 3 years of hands‑on experience with Azure Databricks and Azure Data Factory (ADF).
• Strong expertise in advanced SQL development, query optimization, and performance tuning.
• Experience working with Spark SQL, Delta Lake, and large‑scale distributed data processing platforms.
• Hands‑on experience with cloud data platforms such as Azure and Snowflake.
• Strong understanding of ETL/ELT processes, data integration, and data warehousing concepts.
• Experience in data modeling, dimensional modeling, and analytical data structures.
• Ability to validate complex data transformation and engineering workflows.
• Strong experience working with healthcare claims data and related business processes.
• Knowledge of provider, member, enrollment, financial, vision, and dental datasets.
• Understanding of healthcare business rules, data standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Experience supporting healthcare analytics, forecasting, and operational reporting initiatives.
• Expertise in data profiling, root cause analysis, and data validation.
• Strong experience creating Source-to-Target Mapping (STM) documentation.
• Ability to work with ambiguous requirements and drive clarity across business and technical teams.
