Job summary

Citigroup Inc. in Chennai is hiring for an Officer – Data Management / Business Analyst2 (C10) to design and implement enterprise data solutions for wealth analytics. You will work with stakeholders, data modelers and technology teams to map sources, validate data assets and support governance initiatives.

You will contribute to enterprise data architecture, UDM development and large-scale data initiatives while developing deeper expertise in Wealth data and One Wealth architecture.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in business analysis, data analysis, data management or BI.
• Experience with structured data, source systems, data warehouses or enterprise platforms.
• Banking/Wealth management exposure is preferred.
• Strong SQL for data explore, profiling and validation.
• Knowledge of relational databases, data modelling and data lineage.
• Experience with large datasets and end-to-end data flows.
• Familiarity with Hive, Hue, Snowflake, Teradata, Hadoop, Dataiku, Python or PySpark is a plus.
• Exposure to Tableau, Power BI for reporting is useful.
• Ability to document requirements, mappings and data dictionaries.
• Clear written and verbal communication; detail-oriented.

What the Role Is

We are hiring for the position of Officer – Data Management / Business Analyst2 C10 role within Citi’s AIM Wealth Data Strategy team, based in Chennai India. In this role, you will contribute to the design and implementation of enterprise data solutions that enable consistent reporting, analytics, and business insights across Wealth. You will work closely with business stakeholders, product owners, data modelers, and technology teams to understand business requirements, identify and analyze source data, define mapping specifications, support Unified Data Model (UDM) development, and validate delivered data assets. This role offers the opportunity to work on large-scale strategic data initiatives while gaining exposure to enterprise data architecture, governance, and modern data platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Business Requirement Analysis: Work with business stakeholders to understand reporting, analytics and data requirements.
• Data Sourcing and Exploration: Identify relevant source systems, files, tables and attributes required to support business use cases.
• Data Quality and Governance: Support identification of Critical Data Elements and relevant data quality rules. Assist with data classification, lineage, metadata and governance documentation.
• Testing and Validation: Perform UAT and validate delivered tables, attributes, relationships and transformation logic. Compare source and target data, investigate discrepancies and track defects through closure.

Qualifications

• Experience: 3 to 5 years of experience in business analysis, data analysis, data management, business intelligence or a related area.
• Experience working with structured data, source systems, data warehouses or enterprise data platforms.
• Experience in banking, financial services or Wealth Management is preferred.
• Strong SQL skills for data exploration, profiling, reconciliation and validation.
• Good understanding of relational databases, data modelling concepts, keys, relationships and data lineage.
• Experience working with large datasets and analyzing source-to-target data flows.
• Familiarity with tools such as Hive, Hue, Snowflake, Teradata, Hadoop, Dataiku, Python or PySpark is an advantage.
• Exposure to Tableau, Power BI or other reporting tools is useful.
• Ability to gather, analyze and document business and data requirements.
• Ability to translate business concepts into entities, attributes, mapping rules and validation criteria.
• Strong documentation skills, including requirements, mapping documents, data dictionaries and process flows.
• Ability to review sample data and determine whether it meets the intended business purpose.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
• Clear written and verbal communication.
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to challenge unclear definitions or mappings.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and take ownership of assigned deliverables.
• Proactive learning mindset and willingness to develop deeper expertise in Wealth data and One Wealth architecture.
