Metro Global Solution Center (MGSC) seeks an experienced D365 Finance & Operations Technical Consultant / Developer to support, enhance, and maintain our global D365 platform. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in X++ development, customizations, integrations, and Microsoft Azure technologies.

The role focuses on delivering scalable solutions, API-based integrations, and ensuring high-quality technical delivery across the D365 ecosystem for our internal customers worldwide.

Responsibilities

Metro Global Solution Center (MGSC)is internal solution partner for METRO, a €31.6 Billion international wholesaler with operations in more than 30 countries. The store network comprises a total of 623 stores in 21 countries, of which 522 offer out-of-store delivery (OOS), and 94 dedicated depots. In 12 countries, METRO runs only the delivery business by its delivery companies (Food Service Distribution, FSD).

HoReCa and Traders are core customer groups of METRO. The HoReCa section includes hotels, restaurants, catering companies as well as bars, cafés and canteen operators. The Traders section includes small grocery stores and kiosks. The majority of all customer groups are small and medium-sized enterprises as well as sole traders. Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced 5 yrs + D365 Finance & Operations (F&O) Technical Consultant / Developer to support, enhance, and maintain our global D365 platform. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in X++ development, customizations, integrations, and Microsoft Azure technologies. The role will focus on delivering scalable solutions, implementing API-based/ Flat file-based (Using LogicApps) integrations, supporting business requirements, and ensuring high-quality technical delivery across the D365 ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities (Mandatory)

• Develop, customize, and maintain solutions within Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations using X++.
• Support and enhance existing D365 applications and integrations.
• Design, develop, and maintain API-based integrations between D365 and external systems.
• Develop and consume/expose REST APIs, custom services, OData services, and Data Entities.
• Collaborate with product managers, business stakeholders, and application owners to understand requirements and deliver technical solutions.
• Ensure adherence to development best practices with a focus on performance, maintainability, scalability, and security.
• Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues in development, test, and production environments.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, deployment activities, and release management.
• Prepare technical documentation and communicate relevant system changes to business users and stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities for process automation and continuous improvement within the D365 landscape.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external service providers to deliver and support solutions.

Additional Responsibilities (Preferred)

• Support environment management and deployments through Lifecycle Services (LCS).
• Assist with One Version updates, release validation, and platform maintenance activities.
• Design and implement Azure Logic Apps and other Azure-based integration services.
• Support user access management, security roles, and compliance requirements within D365.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipeline setup and deployment automation using Azure DevOps.
• Evaluate emerging Microsoft technologies and recommend relevant solutions and improvements.

Required Technical Competencies

Mandatory

• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations technical development.
• Advanced proficiency in X++ development, extensions, customizations, and integrations.
• Experience developing and consuming REST APIs, custom APIs, and web services.
• Strong understanding of D365 Data Entities, OData, Custom Services, and integration frameworks.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure services and integration technologies.
• Knowledge of Visual Studio, Azure DevOps, source control, and deployment processes.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a global and cross-functional environment.
• Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.

• Experience with Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate) integrations.
• Familiarity with SharePoint integrations and Microsoft cloud services.
• Experience supporting One Version updates and release management activities.
• Knowledge of licensing, compliance, and governance within the Microsoft ecosystem.
• Strong learning agility and willingness to adopt new technologies.

Preferred Experience

• 5+ years of experience in D365 Finance & Operations technical development.
• Experience working on enterprise-scale ERP implementations and support projects.
• Experience integrating D365 with external applications, third-party platforms, and cloud services.
