Overview
Cyient is hiring GIS Enterprise/Solution Architects to join our international team of GIS system integration specialists. We’re hiring people with the skills in four specific domains, but if you have experience in a domain not listed, we may still want to hear from you:
- Utilities
- Communications (fixed and wireless)
- Mining
- Government/Infrastructure
Your role will be to guide customers through their GIS transformation project by designing and overseeing their new and improved architecture. You’ll be responsible for ensuring all systems connect together seamlessly with good quality data and a scalable architecture. You will need to own the overall architecture and be able to efficiently and clearly articulate your vision to the development teams as well the customer and other senior stakeholders. You need to be comfortable working alongside the client in their offices but also good at working remotely.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Key responsibilities include:
- Ensuring that integration solutions can be delivered, deployed and operated in a highly repeatable and predictable manner through interaction and collaboration with DevOps and environment specialists.
- Providing key design and team leadership alongside deep SME expertise as needed, in all areas of integration in the solution.
- Working within an agile delivery methodology by taking a leading role as part of a wider team.
- Lead kick-off meetings and Facilitate user requirements and design workshops.
- Work with end-users to capture and track software enhancement requests.
- Support the Account Executive with regular business reviews with the customer to ensure they are successful and receiving value from the solution.
- Lead team of engineers to convert architecture and design into PoC (Proof of Concept).
- Leading, managing and mentoring as needed other integration specialists to produce required designs, implementations and solution outcomes.
Technical Skills
- ESRI Certified System Design and Enterprise Professional.
- Analysis Expertise – Experience of analysis of a wide range of specific integration requirements and rapid production of suitable technical designs and specifications.
- Architecture Expertise – Extensive experience of defining and designing integration solution architectures which support multiple vendor and other workstreams across a range of target platforms, with particular emphasis on consumption of web services and data integration.
- Deep technical understanding of the ESRI ArcGIS Platform including ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS Online.
- Ability to work successfully in an ever-changing environment with competing priorities.
- Expertise in carrying out client interactions, feasibility study, business and technical requirements with client and project stakeholders.
- Provide a significant proportion of billable GIS Systems Architect service hours to our clients, both off-site and on-site, as needed.
- Review project requirements and recommend appropriate hardware and/or software configurations.
- Install, configure, test, troubleshoot, and performance tune ArcGIS for Server-based Enterprise GIS Solutions.
- Perform software and hardware planning, licensing, acquisition, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
- Vigorously and enthusiastically participate in GIS design and troubleshooting discussions with clients and teammates via in-person meetings, site visits, phone calls, video conference sessions and e-mail.
- Explain technical issues and solutions to audiences of widely varying technical abilities clearly and patiently.
- Experience with planning and managing a company or departmental IS infrastructure.
- 10+ years of experience with Esri / ArcGIS software (Desktop and Server technologies).
- Strong knowledge of ArcGIS for Server software including installation, configuration, optimization and creation of all currently available service types.
- 5+ years of advanced expertise with MS SQL Server / Oracle for versioned enterprise geodatabases.
- Significant experience across a broad range of IT related skill areas including networking, security, server installation, desktop and handheld support, enterprise applications, web applications and desktop development.
- Experience with design, integration and implementation of ArcGIS for Server-based enterprise GIS solutions.
- Ability and willingness to create complete and detailed documentation (architecture, troubleshooting, procedures, specifications, proposals etc.).
- Excellent English, both written and spoken, and comfort communicating with a variety of clients, staff, and other professionals.
- Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Geography, GIS or another relevant field.
- Report progress to clients, Cyient management and, when assigned, to an NSG project coordinator or project manager.
Helpful Skills and Experience:
- Experience in administering/configuring/implementing/customizing Portal for ArcGIS and ArcGIS Online.
- Experience in configuring/implementing/customizing GIS web viewers.
- DBA experience with SQL Server / Oracle.
- Prior consulting experience including significant interaction with clients.
- Experience with IIS configuration including SSL/HTTPS and using ARR with Reverse Proxy Servers.
- Moderate proficiency with Python and ArcPy.
- Experience creating ArcGIS Server geoprocessing services.
Soft skills:
- Ability to deal with ambiguity, able to come out with solution by bringing in clarity & with quality assumptions, adapt and deliver results in unstructured situations.
- Take ownership for outcomes produce high quality work product within deadlines.
