Overview
Cybersecurity Engineer Security Operation Center role at Rohde & Schwarz. This position focuses on building and maintaining SOC capabilities to monitor, detect, and respond to cybersecurity threats.
Responsibilities
- Implementation of monitoring use cases and alarm/detection rules
- Adaptation and expansion of the toolset to include all necessary information (e.g. logs, context data and threat intel enrichment) for analysts
- Support in continuous improvement processes in the SOC/Cyber Detection & Response Center (e.g. handling false positives, automation, maturation)
- Strengthening cybersecurity analysts in the analysis and triage of security events
- Close collaboration with globally established infrastructure operations teams (e.g. malware defense) or vulnerability management
- Creation of internal team documentation (e.g. SOPs, reference standards, architecture/diagrams)
- Consulting function in projects and initiatives related to existing solutions and integration of new solutions
- Possibility of working in a shift model in the future
Qualifications
- Engineering degree in Computer Science or Information Security from a reputed college/university
- 4-7 years of professional experience in cybersecurity in a multinational company
- Experience with security tools and technologies such as SIEM, SOAR, firewalls, IDS/IPS and anti-virus software
- Proficient working knowledge of Python
- Good knowledge of common log formats, application interfaces (e.g. REST API) and knowledge of GIT/CI-CD
- Knowledge of security frameworks and standards such as MITRE ATT&CK, NIST, ISO 27001
- Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems
- Certifications such as SANS GSOC, Certified SOC Analyst, CISSP or similar are a plus
- Experience in IT service management (e.g. ITIL) is preferred
- Initial experience with machine learning and cybersecurity algorithms
- Experience in creating technical architectures in the SOC/CDRC area is a benefit
- Experience with cloud security and technologies such as AWS and Azure; knowledge of DevOps and tools like Jenkins and Docker is helpful
- Excellent communication skills with fluency in English; German is a plus
