Job description

Overview

Cybersecurity Engineer Security Operation Center role at Rohde & Schwarz. This position focuses on building and maintaining SOC capabilities to monitor, detect, and respond to cybersecurity threats.

Responsibilities

• Implementation of monitoring use cases and alarm/detection rules
• Adaptation and expansion of the toolset to include all necessary information (e.g. logs, context data and threat intel enrichment) for analysts
• Support in continuous improvement processes in the SOC/Cyber Detection & Response Center (e.g. handling false positives, automation, maturation)
• Strengthening cybersecurity analysts in the analysis and triage of security events
• Close collaboration with globally established infrastructure operations teams (e.g. malware defense) or vulnerability management
• Creation of internal team documentation (e.g. SOPs, reference standards, architecture/diagrams)
• Consulting function in projects and initiatives related to existing solutions and integration of new solutions
• Possibility of working in a shift model in the future

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in Computer Science or Information Security from a reputed college/university
• 4-7 years of professional experience in cybersecurity in a multinational company
• Experience with security tools and technologies such as SIEM, SOAR, firewalls, IDS/IPS and anti-virus software
• Proficient working knowledge of Python
• Good knowledge of common log formats, application interfaces (e.g. REST API) and knowledge of GIT/CI-CD
• Knowledge of security frameworks and standards such as MITRE ATT&CK, NIST, ISO 27001
• Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems
• Certifications such as SANS GSOC, Certified SOC Analyst, CISSP or similar are a plus
• Experience in IT service management (e.g. ITIL) is preferred
• Initial experience with machine learning and cybersecurity algorithms
• Experience in creating technical architectures in the SOC/CDRC area is a benefit
• Experience with cloud security and technologies such as AWS and Azure; knowledge of DevOps and tools like Jenkins and Docker is helpful
• Excellent communication skills with fluency in English; German is a plus
