Job summary

Careernet is seeking a security expert to design, scope, and lead complex assessments including Purple Team engagements and offensive security initiatives. You will enhance detection, telemetry, and adversary simulation programs, collaborating with Incident Response, Threat Hunting, and Threat Intelligence teams to raise security maturity.

Expectation includes mentoring junior staff, staying current with threats, and delivering clear security assessment reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/InfoSec or equivalent experience.
• Certifications such as OSCP/OSCE/OSEP etc. preferred.
• Strong background in red teaming, offensive security, and threat intelligence.
• Experience with MITRE ATT&CK and cyber kill chain concepts.

Responsibilities

• Lead purple team engagements and other security testing initiatives.
• Perform targeted offensive security assessments to improve detection and telemetry.
• Collaborate with Incident Response, Threat Hunting, Threat Intelligence, and Security Engineering teams.
• Identify and develop new capabilities for adversary simulation programs.
• Mentor internal teams on secure architecture and detection logic.
• Execute advanced adversary techniques across all phases of the kill chain.
• Build adversary emulation exercises using MITRE ATT&CK and custom threat models.
• Prepare security assessment reports and present findings clearly.
• Work with cross-functional teams to address evolving cybersecurity challenges.
• Stay updated on emerging threats and offensive security techniques.
• Mentor junior security professionals within the team.

Skills Required:

• Strong experience in Cyber Threat Intelligence and Threat Analysis.
• Hands-on experience in Red Teaming and Offensive Security assessments.
• Knowledge of Threat Hunting and Threat Detection methodologies.
• Experience working with threat intelligence platforms and security monitoring tools such as Splunk.
• Strong understanding of frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK and the Cyber Kill Chain.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash Shell, and PowerShell.
• Knowledge of programming languages such as C/C++ is an added advantage.
• Experience in adversary simulation, threat modeling, and detection engineering.
• Familiarity with Agile environments and security operations workflows.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder communication skills.

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

• Relevant certifications such as OSCP, OSCE, OSEP, GXPN, CRTO, or similar certifications are preferred.
