Job summary

Phenom is seeking a Cyber Security Engineer to design, implement, and continuously strengthen security controls across cloud and on-premise environments. You will collaborate with engineering, infrastructure, and security teams to automate detection, response, and remediation while maintaining compliance with industry standards.

You will develop detection logic and runbooks, build security playbooks, and contribute to deployment architecture diagrams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Cybersecurity, or related field.
• 5+ years hands-on Cyber Security Engineering or similar role.
• Experience with enterprise security technologies such as WAF, IDS/IPS, EDR, DLP, authentication systems, and content filtering.
• Experience developing detection logic, SIEM use cases, and responding to security events using logs, alerts, and telemetry.
• Proficiency in scripting or programming languages such as Python, Java, Bash, or PowerShell for security automation and integrations.
• Experience building security playbooks, runbooks, and operational documentation.
• Solid understanding of AWS security services, cloud security best practices, and associated security challenges.
• Knowledge of microservices, distributed systems, and SaaS platform security.
• Familiarity with industry security frameworks and compliance standards such as NIST, ISO 27001/27002/27017/27018, and GDPR.
• Security certifications such as CISSP, SANS GSEC, or equivalent (or actively pursuing one) are a plus.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Partner with engineering and business stakeholders to assess security requirements and ensure compliance with organizational standards.
• Stay current with evolving threats, vulnerabilities, and security trends to continuously strengthen Phenoms security posture.
