Overview

A leading healthcare services provider operating in the tertiary care hospital and critical care medicine sector is expanding its onsite ICU team in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh. We deliver high-acuity inpatient care, emergency stabilization, and evidence-based critical care protocols for adults and complex medical-surgical patients.

Medico Hub is seeking an experienced Critical Care Consultant (Intensivist) to lead bedside management, drive clinical quality, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to improve outcomes in a busy on-site ICU.

Role & Responsibilities
  • Provide direct clinical leadership and 24/7 inpatient critical care for medical and surgical ICU patients, including admitting, daily rounds, and discharge planning.
  • Manage advanced life-support: mechanical ventilation, invasive hemodynamic monitoring, vasoactive therapy, and bedside procedures (central/arterial lines, chest drains).
  • Lead sepsis care, ARDS protocols, sedation/analgesia strategies, and coordinate renal replacement therapy (CRRT) when indicated.
  • Act as primary point of contact for families—communicate prognosis, escalation plans, and end-of-life care discussions with compassion and clarity.
  • Implement and audit ICU protocols, infection control, and quality improvement projects to reduce complications and length of stay.
  • Mentor junior doctors, nurses, and allied staff; participate in on-site teaching, case reviews, and morbidity & mortality meetings.
Skills & Qualifications

Must-Have

  • MBBS with MD/DNB in Anaesthesiology, Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine or equivalent plus DM/DNB/PDCC/Fellowship in Critical Care or equivalent clinical experience (min 2–4 years in ICU).
  • Proven hands-on experience in ventilator management, invasive monitoring, vasopressor use, and bedside ICU procedures.
  • Current ACLS/BLS certification and competence in emergency airway management; strong clinical decision-making and team leadership skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in tertiary care/teaching hospital ICU, familiarity with CRRT, ECMO exposure or advanced critical-care technology.
  • Proficiency with POCUS/bedside ultrasound, EMR documentation, and prior involvement in clinical audits or research.
