Job description

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer with expertise in Creo, GD&T, Sheet Metal Design, Teamcenter PLM, and Engineering Change Management (ECN/ECR). The candidate will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical components and assemblies, creating manufacturing drawings, managing product data, and driving engineering changes throughout the product lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and sheet metal products using Creo (3D modeling and drafting).
  • Create detailed manufacturing drawings with proper application of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) as per ASME standards.
  • Develop and maintain sheet metal designs, fabrication drawings, and assembly documentation.
  • Manage product structures, BOMs, drawings, and design releases through Teamcenter PLM.
  • Initiate, track, and implement Engineering Change Notices (ECN), Engineering Change Requests (ECR), and Change Orders (ECO).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality, sourcing, and suppliers to resolve design issues.
  • Ensure design compliance with engineering standards, quality requirements, and manufacturability guidelines.
  • Support prototype development, testing, design validation, and product improvement activities.
  • Maintain engineering documentation and configuration control throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Participate in design reviews, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Skills
  • Strong experience in Creo Parametric for part modeling, assembly design, and drafting.
  • Good knowledge of GD&T and engineering drawing interpretation.
  • Hands-on experience in Sheet Metal Design and fabrication processes.
  • Experience working with Teamcenter PLM for document management, BOM management, and workflow processes.
  • Knowledge of ECN/ECR/ECO and Change Management processes.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes, tolerance stack-up, and product development lifecycle.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Experience with BOM management, configuration management, and product release processes.
  • Familiarity with ASME Y14.5 standards and design for manufacturing principles.
