Job summary

Qualifications

Key Responsibilities:

The role will be responsible for identifying projects to develop and convert to production in Tamil Language. The role holder will develop/track new projects and seek out and engage with talent and producers to produce films and deliver on Zee Studios strategic plan.

Content Development & Creative Evaluation

• Identify and evaluate story ideas, scripts, adaptations, remakes, and original concepts for the Tamil market.
• Work closely with writers, filmmakers, and creative talent to develop concepts into production-ready scripts.
• Coordinate script development, feedback cycles, and creative discussions through various stages of development.
• Assess projects from both creative and commercial perspectives and provide recommendations for greenlighting.
• Track emerging content trends, audience preferences, and competitive developments within the Tamil film industry.
• Maintain an active pipeline of development projects and talent opportunities.

Creative Production Support

• Support the creative execution of projects from development through production and post-production.
• Work closely with production teams to ensure creative alignment with the approved vision and script.
• Provide creative inputs during pre-production, casting discussions, script revisions, and post-production reviews.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of creative milestones.

Talent & Relationship Management

• Build and maintain strong relationships with writers, directors, producers, actors, and key creative talent within the Tamil film ecosystem.
• Identify and nurture new writing, directing, and filmmaking talent for future collaborations.
• Support negotiations and onboarding of talent in partnership with Business Affairs and Legal teams.
• Manage relationships with co-production partners and external stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
• Maintain market intelligence on emerging talent, active projects, and competitive activity.

Cross Functional Collaboration

• Partner with Marketing teams to ensure strong positioning and promotion of films.
• Collaborate with Business Affairs, Finance, Legal, and Production teams to facilitate smooth execution of projects.
• Support project tracking, approvals, contract closures, and delivery requirements.
• Prepare development notes, project evaluations, presentations, and business cases for internal review.

What You'll Bring

• 6-10 years of experience in film development, creative production, content curation, studio development, or related roles.
• Strong understanding of the Tamil film industry, audience preferences, talent landscape, and content trends.
• Demonstrated experience in script evaluation, story development, and working with writers and directors.
• Strong creative judgment coupled with commercial acumen.
• Established network across Tamil filmmakers, writers, producers, and creative communities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Fluency in Tamil and English is essential.
• Experience within a film studio, production house, OTT platform, broadcaster, or content company will be preferred.
